Many trains were run by the Pennsy even at this late date for private railroads.

Highlights of this schedule are the following trains.

The "Manhattan Limited-The Golden Triangle" combo ran from New York to Chicago with sleepers from New York to Chicago, Pittsburg to Chicago, with dining cars from New York to Pittsburg and Pittsburg to Chicago, and coaches from New York to Chicago.

The "Broadway Limited" ran from New York to Chicago with a Lounge-Bar Car from New York to Chicago, sleepers from New York to Chicago, Observation Car from New York to Chicago, dining car New York to Chicago. No coaches or checked baggage were operated.

"The Admiral" from New York to Chicago with Washington connections. A lounge-bar car from New York to Chicago, sleepers from New York to Chicago, Baltimore to Chicago. a dining car from Pittsburg to Chicago, and a buffet car from Washington to Harrisburg, and coaches from New York to Chicago and connecting coaches from Washington to Harrisburg.

"The General-The Trail Blazer" a combo train from New York to Chicago with extra fare charges. A lounge-Bar car ran from New York to Chicago, sleepers from New York to Chicago, and Washington to Chicago, with dining cars from New York to Chicago and Washington to Harrisburg. Coaches ran from New York to Chicago and Washington to Chicago and an Observation-coach-bar car from New York to Chicago.

"The Fort Pitt" from Pittsburg to Chicago with Parlor Buffet car from Pittsburg to Chicago and coaches from Pittsburg to Chicago.

The "Pennsylania Limited" from New York to Chicago with a lounge-bar car from New York to Chicago and sleepers from New York to Chicago, a dining car from New York to Chicago, and coaches from New York to Chicago.

Train service from New York to St. Louis (a much deteriated route from the past).

"The Penn Texas" ran from New York to St. Louis with a lounge-bar car from New York to St. Louis, with sleepers from New York to Ft. Worth, Texas, New York to Houston, New York to San Antonio, New York to St. Louis, Washington to St. Louis-Houston, New York to Indianapolis and Washington to Indianapolis, with dining cars from New York to St. Louis with continuing diners to Texas points on respective railroads, a lounge-buffet car from Washington to Harrisburg, tavern-bar-lounge car from New York to St. Louis, coaches from New York to St. Louis, Washington to Harrisburg.

"The Duquesne" ran from Philadelphia to Pittsburg with parlor cars from Philadelphia to Pittsburg, Baltimore to Harrisburg with coaches from Philadelphia to Pittsburg, Washington to Baltimore, Baltimore to Pittsburg, and a through coach from Pittsburg to Indianapolis.

The "Spirit of St. Louis" which ran from New York to St. Louis with a lounge-bar car from New York to St. Louis, sleepers from New York to St. Louis and New York to Indianapolis with a dining car from New York to St. Louis, coaches from New York to St. Louis and a lounge-bar coach from New York to St. Louis.

"The St. Louisan" from New York to St. Louis with a lounge-bar car from New York to St. Louis, with sleepers from New York to St. Louis, New York to Louisville, and Pittsburg to St. Louis, a dining car from New York to St. Louis and coaches from New York to St. Louis.

"The Red Arrow" ran from New York to Detroit with a lounge-bar car from New York to Pittsburg, Pittsburg to Detroit, sleepers from New York to Detroit, Pittsburg to Detroit, dining cars New York to Pittsburg, Washington to Harrisburg, and Pittsburg to Detroit, coaches from New York to Detroit, Washington to Harrisburg, Washington to Baltimore, and Baltimore to Harrisburg.

Chicago to Florida service ran from Chicago to Louisville on the Pennsylvania RR with connecting service to Florida.

Service was "The South Wind" with a loung-bar car from Chicago to Miami, sleepers from Chicago to Miami, Chicago to Tampa-St. Petersburg, dining cars from Chicago to Miami, Jacksonville to Tampa, and Jacksonville to St. Petersburg, coaches from Chicago to Miami, Chicago to St. Petersburg, Chicago to Tampa-Sarasota, and a coach lounge car from Chicago to Miami.

The Pennsylvania Railroad also ran the New York to Washington, D.C. service that is now referred to by Amtrak as the Northeast Corridor. Numerous trains ran this route on a daily basis. Several of the name trains were the "Morning Congressional", The "Morning Keystone", "The Colonial", "The Executive", "The Patriot", "The Afternoon Congressional", "The Mount Vernon", "The President", "The Federal", "The Edison", "Representative", "The Legislator", "The Mid-Day Congressional", "The Embassy", "The Evening Keystone", "The Crescent", "The Arlington" and other number trains. Most of these trains included coaches, parlor cars, dining cars or buffet cars, with some trains including sleepers.
