The Florida East Coast ran through trains from the Northeast and from the mid-west for various railroads. The FEC ran most of their trains from Jacksonville, Fla. down Floridas' east coast to Miami.
The "Miamian" was a deluxe all-Pullman train that ran from New York to Miami. Sleepers ran from New York to Miami, Washington to Miami, Kansas City to Miami(from the Kansas City-Florida Special), Detroit to Miami(from the Southland), a Pullman lounge from New York to Miami, and two diners ran from New York to Miami.
The "Florida Special" was a very fine train that ran as an all-Pullman train from New York to Miami. Sleepers ran from New York to Miami and Washington to Miami, two diners were run, along with a lounge observation car. Effective January 12, 1939 an advance section would be run one hour in advance of this schedule.
"The Tamiami" ran from Jacksonville to Miami with through sleepers from New York to Miami(from the Miamian), New York to Miami(from the "Florida Special), dining car from Jacksonville to West Palm Beach, sleeper from Chicago to Miami(from the Seminole), Chicago to Miami(from the Southland), Chicago to Miami(from the Dixie Flyer), and a sleeper from Jacksonville to Miami. Coaches ran from Jacksonville to Miami, with 2 deluxe coaches from Jacksonville to Miami.
The "Daylight Express" ran with 2 coaches from Jacksonville to Miami via East Palatka. This was a pure FEC train.
The "Gulf Stream" ran from Jacksonville to Miami with through cars from the Northeast and Chicago. Sleepers ran from Boston to Miami, New York to Miami, St. Louis to Miami(via the Dixieland), Chicago to Miami(via the Dixieland). Coaches ran from Jacksonville to Miami, New York to Miami(via the Vacationer). A dining car ran from Chicago to Miami(via The Dixieland), a restaurant car ran from Jacksonville to Miami.
The "Havana Special" ran from New York to Miami with through sleepers from New york to Miami(via the Havana Special), New York to West Palm Beach, a lounge car from New York to Miami, Cincinnati to Miami(via the Flamingo), Cleveland to Miami(via the Ponce De Leon),Detroit to Miami(via the Ponce De Leon), St. Louis to Miami(via the Dixie Limited) and a sleeper from Jacksonville to Miami (FEC car), and coaches from Jacksonville to Miami(FEC coaches)
The "Royal Poinciana" ran from Chicago to Miami. Two coaches from Jacksonville to Miami, coach from Jacksonville to Mimi. Two dining cars from West Palm Beach to Miami, sleepers from Chicago to Miami(via the Florida Arrow), a lounge car from Chicago to Miami(via the Florida Arrow), Indianapolis to Miami(via the Florida Arrow), Louisville to Miami(via the Florida Arrow), from Chicago to Miami(via The Floridan), St. Louis to Miami(via The Floridan), an observation car from chicago to Miami(via The Floridan).
Mixed train service ran on parts of the FEC System also.
