This is the November 1, 1936 passenger issue for the Chesapeake and Ohio Lines (C&O RR)

The primary trains of the time were "The George Washington", "The Fast Flying Virginian" (FFV), and "The Sportsman".

"The George Washington" ran from Washington, D.C. to Cincinnati with a connection at Charlottesville to Norfolk. Through service to St. Louis and Chicago was provided. From Washington through service to New York was also offered. Equipment used was an Observation-Lounge car, Library Lounge sleeper, sleepers, Pullman Club Lounge Car, Dining car,and Imperial Salon Car(coach).

"The FFV" offered service along the same route as "The George Washington" with equipment consisting of Lounge Sleeping Car, sleepers, Pullman Club Lounge Car, Dining car, Imperial Salon Cars, and coaches (non-air conditioned).

"The Sportsman" ran on the same route as the two above except that it had through Pullman service to Detroit. Washington to Cincinnati coaches were not air conditioned.

There were numerous numbered trains that ran the length of the C&O Lines. The one way trip coach fare from Washington to Cincinnati was $11.20.
