It seems a lot of people know of HDQ for their later, pre-Leatherface work, but very few people are aware of this earlier incarnation of the band. Formed in Sunderland in the north-east of England around 1984/5 and lasting barely two years, they released a mini album on Endangered Musik as well as featuring on the 'Relying On Us' comp. ep released by the same label alongside Oi Polloi, Criminal Justice, The Depraved and Stone The Crowz.
HDQ split early 1986 only to be ressurected after a few months by guitarist Dicky Hammond, using a completely new line-up to go for a more melodic, American sound as opposed to the previous line-ups' street-punk approach.... sort of less GBH and more Rythmn pigs.
