Sunday morning the sky was overcast and my right knee felt strained so I decided not to do any running. After taking down the tent and repacking the luggage, I decided to drive north to White, City New Mexico to visit the Carlsbad Caverns National Park . At the Caverns, I took the elevator down 800ft to the caverns and walked the 1.4mi loop to see the various features. Returning to ground level via the elevator , I then walked outside to see the Natural Entrance to the Caverns. This is the entrance used by the bats . The floor of the entrance has been modified to contain a walkway for visitors to use to reach the underground caverns . |

My return flight out of El Paso departed at 4:20pm. My plan was to stop off at Hueco Tanks State Park during the drive back to El Paso . Returning south from the caverns I drove by the Guadalupe Mountains again and stopped to take a final photo. Guadalupe Peak and El Capitain were engulfed by low clouds. |

Arriving to Hueco tanks, the park employees at the entrance informed me that visitors must watch a 25minute video tutorial about the park before being permitted entry. Given the time schedule I had, I passed on watching the video and took a few photos from the park entrance and then continued the drive to El Paso. |
