SATURDAY
Photo  :  Saturday morning I woke up to find cloudy skies.  My plan was to join some of the others to climb up to Guadalupe Peak.  Another group decided to go to Dog Canyon, and another group went to the Permian Trail.

I returned to the campsite just before 11am, and had some lunch.  Then around 12:30p I headed back out for some more hillwork...  up the Tejas Trail to the top of the ridge and then back down.   All the scenery which had been hidden from view due to the darkness during our climb the morning before was mostly visible now.  The exception was the area around Guadalupe Peak which was still covered with low clouds.  It would take until much later in the day for the clouds to completely burn-off.

Just as I almost reached the top of the ridge, Henry and Chris were starting the descent back to the campsite (they had gone to Dog Canyon).  Reaching the top , I stopped to drink the remaining water in my handheld bottle and then stashed the bottle in my camelbak for the fun descent back to Pine Springs.

Later in the afternoon and early evening folks began gathering at the main group campsite for dinner.  Rain was forecast for Saturday evening, and rain was visible on the horizon to the East.  Saturday evening, after the sunset,  there was  some  rain, some thunder and some lightning.  The wind picked up only for a brief time and the tent walls oscillated from being convex to concave but did not collapse..
