Photos from: Day 3: Beacroft Trail and the North Fork of American River Aug 13-15, 2004 by Linda Hurd |
Photos taken on the third day: Foresthill Rd to North Fork of American River and back up to Foresthill Rd on the Beacroft Trail (~5miles total) I had traversed this trail for the first time in May 2003, on the Thursday before WS training camp. The North Fork canyon is steep in this section. Further upstream, the North Fork Canyon is called Royal Gorge. |

Photo # 43: About 1/3 of the way down the trail to the river, the trail comes out of the forest and onto an exposed area littered with rocks. The exposed area affords a wonderful view of the canyon. |

Photo # 44: ???The north Fork of the American River does not have much of a flow this time of year. (such is not the case in the spring when the snow melt occurs). A photo taken looking upstream: . |
Photo # 45: A photo of the North Fork looking downstream. Unfortunately, due to time of day, half the view is in the shadows. The photo does not reveal the beautiful granite . |
