Day 2  photos continued.
Photo # 35: Unknown dirt road in background... might be the  road that leads to Duncan Creek diversion (or back road to RF)?
A friend of mine has two gold claim sites along Duncan Creek.. one upstream from the diversion, and one downstream.  We visited one of them in Sept 2002 and one in Sept 2003.  During both of these trips we also visited French Meadows Reservoir.  It has been interesting to observe  how the fire-damaged land in the French Meadows-area has begun to repair itself since the fire in August  of 2001.  Duncan Creek is very pretty where one of the gold claim sites is located... big granite boulders. One can only imagine the torrent of current that blasts through the? narrow rocky creek canyon in the spring.
Photo # 36: Rock outcrop can be seen in distance through the burnt trees.
Photo #41: A view looking to the East and a little north.
Photo # 42: Crossing a saddle.
Photo # 37: A photo taken of French Meadows Reservoir from  where the  Duncan Canyon Aid station is located (just beyond a campground located off of Mosquito Ridge Road).
Photo # 40 Interesting rock outcrop that looks like the ridges on the back of a TREX dinosaur.
Photo # 38: Leaving the Site of Duncan Canyon Aidstation, the trail becomes
rocky. We were happy to see that the area had not been destroyed with fire breaks .
Photo # 39:   A view from top of "Red Star Ridge" (above the French Meado Reservoir ) looking across at the dirt roads which lead to Hell Hole Reservoir and Rubicon areas.
Photo # 43:  Final photo from Day 2.
