More photos from Day 1:
Photo # 17: A storm was approaching as is evidenced by the darker swollen clouds in the background (The storm was actually over Incline Village on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe).  The peak in the background might be Lyon Peak.
Photo # 18: This photo did not quite capture all of the strewn granite boulders  and wildflowers in the landscape.
Photo # 23: An assortment of pretty wildflowers among the granite boulders.
(this is one of my favorite photos from the ~50 I took).
On the return trip I saw a coyote in this section and some quail.
Photo # 24: This photo was taken looking back from Emigrant Pass toward Red Star (from where I had started). On right side of photo, I believe Needle Peak and Granite Chief are visible).
Photo # 19: Another view of French Meadows Reservoir with yellow wildflowers in the foreground.  (Definitely closer to the reservoir from this location than from where earlier photo was taken)
Photo # 22:   The streams had ample flow of water in Granite Chief Wilderness , to keep the ground cover green and lush.
Photo # 20: Welcome to Granite Chief Wilderness.
Photo # 21:   A view of Needle Peak ?
Photo # 25: Watson Monument at the top of the Pass, with Lake Tahoe in background.  The storm (over the  NE part of the lake) produced a wonderful display of lightning bolts accompained with roars of thunder. There were still a few patches of snow scattered around.
