"Global Culture Thesis and its critique"

General guidelines to keep in mind when dealing with other cultures:

Since people in most places drinking coke can we say that there is a global culture. Global Culture exists because right now in this historical period we are seeing a post industrial economy. In this world, many people can receive information as quickly as they want. This allows us to be aware of different cultures at the same time. It is a very functional method. There is a very fast flow of information between cultures. These global connectors involve the flow of goods and services, information and people. There is also a flow of capital between economies so if this flow has, that would allow them to be aware of one another because the more these economies come together, the more these nations and people should be aware of one another. After Americans started helping Turkish economy, these different cultures started to be aware of each other. Migration (in the same country) and immigration ( between different countries) have started and people moved other places. This affected whole global culture.

The global culture thesis has been criticized by many people although we are observing global trends in the world. This is very hard to say because people living in different countries are not receiving information equally, they are not being affected by equally. They still preserve their own local cultures. Ex: In many countries, if you look at the big cities, they seem to be sharing the same global culture but only in the big cities such a global culture exists. But if you look at towns or villages, they are not sharing the global culture because they have their own customs. (they listen arabesque music against the pop music). We can say that people living in urban areas are sharing some forms of global culture but in rural areas, they are not sharing the same culture. People living in different areas of the world can affect various types of goods and services. It is not correct the distribution of income is quite abnormal. Although people are sharing the same culture, we cannot say that they understand same things in different places. People everywhere, look at the world through their own cultural lenses.

The social organization of people and the way we are organizing ourselves is a very complex process. In order for us to understand, we have to look at the relationship between two people. (two social actors) In our daily life, we are constantly engage in social interaction. It means one social actor behaving towards the other one in a meaningful way. In that case, there is a social interaction going on but if one social actor cannot or does not affect the other one, we cannot talk about social interaction. (In marriages, people say that they have an interaction problem, in that case, there is no affection going on). In any human relationship to talk about interaction, one person has to talk the other one. If this interaction becomes persistent, we can talk about social relationship. (we meet somebody, we may be interact or form a social relationship) In this sense, these two concepts are important to understand the care of social organization. In every social organization, there is a social interaction, if those social relationships have some certain patterns, we are talking about social structure. In order for us to talk about social structure, we are talking about hierarchies. Culture is like a glue which holds people together. In order for us to talk about social organization, we are talking about the limitations on human behavior. What limits us from doing something?  Social structure and the culture of people are two major important items in terms of putting some limits on their behavior.
