I HAVE FINALLY SEEN A LAUNCH !
Yes it is true! After years and years of yearning for the rattle and hum of experiencing a launch of a Space Shuttle the dream finally came to life at 2:41 pm on a sunny Thursday in April 2001.

The pictures below (click for full size)  are so-called screen caps from the video I shot chronicling our adventures at the Cape, Universal Studios, Orlando as well as the Talladega 500 outside Birmingham Alabama.

The official NASA pix for the STS-100 launch can be found here and on the pages linked to this one.

Some short  films of the launch may be coming some day when I am not governed by the amount of downloads...

The guy hiding behind all the camera lenses is Sweden's only astro/kosmo-naut. His name is Christer Fuglesang, but as we accidentally ran in to him at the Cape, all I was able to utter was "...Kris......"

You had to be there. Muchos funny!

Christer flew as a mission specialist on Discovery STS-116 in December 2006. Click here for his bio at NASA and check out the STS-116 patch with the Swedish flag in below.
