But I think that there is currently a very good rating system already employed on this bridge site. For either good bidding , good declarer play, or good defensive play I can think of no nicer rating than :

wdp ( well done pard)

gdo ( good defense opps )

vwdp,vwdo, npp/o, nicely done, excellent , gdp ,etc.

And for those times I really blow my bidding or card play nto, ntp , npp come to mind.

But there is no better rating on this site then when someone adds me to their Friends List and I add theirs, who really could ask for more. And I too feel that I am a fairly competitive player, but I recognize that for Rubber Bridge and a good match in progress, the best defensive bid I know is the "pass" of my pards bid of 2H when we have 40 on, vul., I just have to much respect for my opps defensive play to attempt to play the all glorious slam, even when it turns out to be a laydown. Slams are great , don't get me wrong, but they are rare.

Its the great feeling after a good 2hour match with enjoyable people , who all did their best with the cards they were dealt, that to me is way better then some momentary pat on the back. And at the end of the evening when I see " Good match Folks ", "We gotta do this again ", "Enjoyed all , Thanks for the great time " :))

I would welcome a duplicate side within Yahoo, but for Rubber, please don't tinker with the current rating system, its the best there is , the best there was , and the best there ever will be.
