Here in Northern California (where I live), a great number of really neat looking old industrial buildings that are still standing. Unfortunately in Southern California most of these neat old structures are now gone, mainly because of the high value of land that is needed for new housing and another K Mart store.

A few of us model railroaders like to scratchbuild structures for our model railroad layouts, I sure do!
Shown on this page will be photographs of courragated sheet metal sided structures I've found that I would like to build someday.

This old Welding and Repair Shop is located in Dorris California, on Highway 97.

This old courragated metal building is in Orland, CA. It has really intresting roof pitches and would make for a good Low Relief Building for the layout.

Not courragated sheet metal but pressed metal sided farm storage building located at Macdoel, CA., seen along Highway 97.
The metal was pressed to look like cut stone block.

For modeling this metal sheet in HO Scale, I would use a plastic brick sheet (looking similar), then with a stiff brush to rub an impression onto tin foil.
