New production underway 8:51 PM
    By: Oliver Costello, Writer/Director/Editor/Actor

My horror movie will start production on July 5, after a casting session. If any one is interested, please feel free to contact me.
This project will be one very close to my heart, so I will mainly focus on the things behind the camera and making sure it's true to my vision.
Along with casting, I am also looking far people to fill out a crew. In my eyes, the crew is just as important as the cast.

That's it for now.
I'll keep you updated updated.

BIG news from the North 9:44 PM
    By: Oliver Costello, Writer/Director/Editor/Actor

Pre-production has started on two of my many projects.
  • Horror. Thats project number one. I've been scouting locations to fit with the story. The script is about two-thirds done.
  • Action. Thats project number two. I have been watching old movies with car chases (Bullitt, The Cannonball Run, The Transporter). Throw in some Tactial Espionage Action and I got a winner. The opening scene is already storyboarded

***Other News... The Outhouse Productions DVD is now in stock and features a hole lot of stuff that would interest all the people that were involed.

    That's it for now.
    I'll keep you updated updated.

Wizard 'Direct to Video' contest 2:53 PM
        By: Oliver Costello, Writer/Director/Editor/Actor

    DIRECT TO VIDEO
Download a Wizard 'Direct to Video' contest entry form and be the next Speilberg

    GRAND PRIZE (1)
A paid trip (airplane and hotel accommodations, please see official rules for details) for two to Wizard World Chicago 2004 (Aug. 13-15, 2004), the annual mega-convention spotlighting comics, toys, gaming, movie celebs and more! There, you’ll be on hand to witness the world-premiere of YOUR short film! What short film? Read on...

    RUNNERS-UP (5)
Five prize packages including the airing of your tape at Wizard World Chicago 2004!

HOW TO WIN: Create an original short film that WILL MAKE US LAUGH and would interest a Wizard reader (hint: we WANT superhero videos, not slow-paced drama). Think funny! Think action! Think comic books! Make a parody trailer to a movie like “Batman” or a pseudo-documentary on the JLA. Last year’s winner had Kool-Aid Man fighting crime! The sky is the limit as to the type of film you can make, but keep these five golden rules in mind when you’re playing Sam Raimi:

    1. All entries MUST be on a normal VHS tape. We just want to be able to put it in our VHS from 1991 and have it play without technical difficulties!

    2. All films must be NO LONGER than FOUR minutes. We mean this!!! Don’t send us your 43-minute student film thesis. We’re sure it’s brilliant, but we won’t watch it! Four minutes or less. ’Nuff said.

    3. No nudity, though nudity hidden by censor bars is okay.

    4. No profanity, though bleeped profanity is okay, too.

    5. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT: If the first 30 seconds of your film bore us, we have no problem taping over your video with the next episode of “The O.C.”! That’s right, every second of your video counts! Start with something FUNNY or ACTION-ORIENTED to lure us in. There is no need for opening credits on a four-minute video.

HOW TO ENTER: Simple. Just make your flick (fly solo, work with your friends, make it a class project, whatever), attach a label with the full name of the director, his address, phone number and the title of the film to the tape and mail to:

    “Direct to Video” Contest, c/o Wizard Entertainment, P.O. Box 118,Congers, N.Y., 10920-0118 Deadline is April 1, 2004.

Just click here or on the image to the right to download an entry form.

Shooting Schedule Meeting!! COMMENTS 2:00 PM
        By: Oliver Costello, Writer/Director/Editor
  • So far I've been able to update every Wednesday, so I'll try to keep on this pace.
  • Crystal, Mike, Ray and myself have all been comfirm to star I'm just waiting for a couple more.
  • All I can say about the script is that there are a lot of in-jokes.
  • The reason for the June 28th release date is so I can show it before I go to Chicago (hoping) for winning the "Direct to Video" Contest from Wizard.
  • Just a reminder. "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back" comes out on Video & DVD next Tuesday (Feb. 26). It was this time last year I was waiting to pick up the "Clerks: Uncensored" DVD.

     First day coming fast
        By: Oliver Costello, Writer/Director/Editor

  • So far so good for cast and crew. I've gotten so far Ray, Mike, Jeremy, Crystal and Shawn. Jeremy is off on holidays, but will be back to shoot his scenes. Of course I had to re-arange the shooting schedule. So now I'm a week a way from making the video that I've been trying to do for the past 4 years.

  • My only drawback with making this video is...A VIDEO CAMERA!!! I sure Mike or someone else might have a camera to use.

  • Later, after shooting is complete, be sure to keep visiting this site for updates on the editing processing.

  • Watch for another update Saturday, August 18.
