"Dark Frontier, parts 1 & 2"
Production no. 911-912

Director: Cliff Bole (part1), Terry Windell (part 2)
Written by: Brannon Braga and Joe Menosky

"There are 3 things to remember about being a starship captain: keep your shirt tucked in, go down with the ship, and never abandon a member of your crew."
(Janeway)

Plot:  Janeway launches an ambitious mission to steal technology from a Borg vessel but when the Borg find out about her plan, the Collective contacts Seven and makes an offer she can't refuse: remain with the Collective or watch the ship be destroyed. However, Janeway suspects that there's more Seven's apparent betrayal and so launches another mission, this time to rescue Seven and come face-to-face with the Borg Queen herself.

Guest cast:

Susana Thompson ("Borg Queen")
Kirk Bailey ("Magnus Hansen")
Laura Stepp ("Erin Hansen")
Scarlett Pomers ("Naomi Wildman")
Katelin Petersen ("Annika Hansen")
Eric Cadora ("Alien")

Some trivia:

Susana Thompson has also played the Romulan Varel in TNG's "The Next Phase", Jaya in TNG's "Frame of Mind" and Lenara Khan in DS9's "Rejoined".

Memorable scenes:

*
The scenes with the Hansens are quite good and give us an insight into Seven's past.
*
The scenes with Seven and the Borg Queen playing mind games are very good.

Some quotes:

"What we have here, in 2 words, is Fort Knox"
(Janeway)

"My parents underestimated the Collective. They were destroyed. Because of their arrogance I was raised by the Borg."
(Seven)

"Welcome home."
(Borg Queen to Seven)

My comments:  It was a pretty good episode though a little disappointing despite all the hype. However, Susana Thompson was great as the new Borg Queen and her scenes with Seven were well played. There were alos some great SFX in this episode. All round, it was a good episode but it could have been even better.
