"We are demons and we eat children...and I haven't had my supper yet."
(Tom Paris to Latika)

Plot: The crew discover a planet that was once capable of maintaining humanoid life and that an explosion on the planet had rendered it barren When Janeway and Tom fall through a subspace fracture and turn up on the planet before the disastruous explosion, they must decide whether or not to break the Prime Directive and warn the planet's inhabitants of their impending doom.

Guest cast:

Brady Bluhm ("Latika")
Nicolas Surovy ("Pe'Nar Makull")
Joel Polis("Terla")
Ryan MacDonald ("Shopkeeper")
Jerry Spicer ("Guard")
Steve Vaught ("Officer")

Memorable scenes:

*
The scenes where Tom is winding up the kid are great!.

Some quotes:

"It seems I've found myself on the voyager of the damned."
(The Doctor)

My comments: This episode was a little dull in places and at times it seemed that only the interaction between Tom and Latika was the only thing that made this episode worth watching. However, despite this, it is an OK episode but Janeway's attitude towards the Prime Directive is a little inconsistent (something that will be seen again and again in later episodes!). One minute she supports the Prime Directive, the next she tells the dissidents about the events surrounding the explosion. Anyway, it's not awful and is worth a watch.
