And in her bed, safe from the horrors of the real world, she clasped her hands together and prayed. First the Lord's prayer, always first. An Act of Contrition, to ask for forgiveness, then her special prayer, one she'd made up the day she saw him. He needed her prayers, of this she was sure. He needed hers as she needed his, only she couldn't be absolutely sure he knew exactly what he was praying for.

In different parts of the world, they lived, their lives joined by the past, unknowingly. Now, in the present, they couldn't find one another physically, but knew that each exsisted. He was famous, she was not. She knew what he was, he still hadn't found her. But in their minds, and in the saftey of their beds, they each prayed for one another, fufilling a promise made in a previous life.

Her prayers had saved him more than once, only she didn't know it. His prayers had guided her through a tough life, only he didn't know who he was praying for. Their spirituality had long since meshed as one, but the question was, would they ever meet eye to eye.

Sometimes it didn't matter to either of them, both so busy in day to day life. Too busy to think of one another. But when the lights went down, and silence fell upon the world, their thoughts intertwined. She could feel him, actually feel when he was in need. Did he feel her too? Often she wondered, frustrated with not knowing. Then she whispered to God, and felt much better. Faith is like that, just go with it.

Seeing him everywhere was both a comfort and a torture. Seeing him in pain, even when it was hidden from most, was the worst. She knew, just knew, he was hurting, struggling with his own life. She just wanted to hold him, tell him he would be fine, and someday in the future, when he had a wife and little ones running about, he would look back on it all with a smile. All the pain right now would be a faded memory, and looking back on it wouldn't seem so bad.

Still, it hurt to see him hurt, even if only for a moment. Sometimes, she wanted to rip him from the pop group that had propelled him into the spotlight and throw him back into a normal life. She wondered if he would resent that idea. She pondered the image of him never selling millions of records, being in millions of magazines, meeting hundreds of famous people.

Was she jealous? Sometimes she thought so. Maybe in a past life they had promised to find one another, and he was breaking his vow. Could that be? No. Not him. There wasn't an evil bone in his body, of that she was sure. But then what? Did she screw up somewhere? Was she supposed to do something else? Maybe she let him down. Thoughts like that gripped her in fear and questions. Then he would pop up in a most unusual place, and make her feel better.

And him, he lays in hotel room after hotel room, feeling that saftey, knowing she's out there somewhere, thinking of him. But who is she? How would he find her? Same thing, close your eyes, and have faith. God will never steer you wrong. He knew as well that they would meet someday, and maybe it wouldn't be instantanous at first, but the connection would be there. It was there right now, so often he could feel it. Doing television specials, photo shoots, videos, he wondered if she was there on the other end watching him. Hopefully she was a fan, but what if she wasn't? Fear would take it's turn with him, toying gently with him, then he would feel a peacefullness fall upon him, and know he was protected.

Why was it God had let them know of one another instead of keeping it a secret? It was clear, only not to them. Ask their friends, people they've touched with their good deeds, and one word comes back describing them both. "Angels"

So the two angels slept, one on the east coat, where her home was, her family, her job, her cats, her life, a solitary picture of him laminated and tucked in her purse. Nothing obvious, she rarely even talked about him to anyone, choosing to keep him locked in her heart for now. Him travelling about, second leg of his tour about to begin, an image of her engraved in his mind, little signals sent out that only she would understand, comments made that would make her smile, and all his positive energy.

Whatever they had, they owed in someway to one another. The two angels sleep peacefully, waiting their turn with destiny.
