The meeting was called to order by Vice President,Dave Stocker at 7:05 PM.
Mary Stocker announced that we have $6584.61 in our treasury. It was noted that the owner of North Plains Market had deposited $129.00 into our account at West Coast Bank that she had collected by putting up a collection jar at her place of business.
Mary handed out prizes for the top bulb sellers. Cassidy won 1st prize which was two movie tickets Brandon got 2nd Prize which was a $10.00 Zumiez Gift Card and John Dormier got 3rd Prize which was $10.00 McDonalds Gift Card.
Mary said we would not be able to hold a raffle as planned because Oregon has restrictions on selling raffle tickets and will not allow a non-profit to hold a raffle unless they have been a fundraiser for one year. It was suggested that we hold an Auction instead. Glen said he knew an professional auctioneer that perhaps he could get to come It was discussed whether we should hold a Silent Auction or Live Auction or maybe both Mary said she would present the idea of us getting to use Jesse May Hall for free to hold the auction to the City Council on Monday April 21. Leona said she could make flyers to post There were many good ideas for items to be sold at the auction. It was suggested that we might also have a Bake Sale or Dessert Table and/or a Cake Walk with Coffee from Oregon Coffee Roasters.
Music or a Concert by Oregon Coffee Roasters "Fields Family Singers" and Jordan said maybe we could ask Brian Dormier's Band to play. Sherri said she might possibly donate some of her Candles, Jordan would see if his family wanted to donate a guitar or some cabinets, Cassidy would check with her Mom about a donation from Nike, Kathleen suggested asking Fish Radio to donate some concert tickets. Leona is going to follow up with Whatz Up Music in Hillsboro for a possible donation. Brandon offered to put up some donation jars at various businesses in Hillsboro to collect money and also to donate some of his photography to sell. Brandon also suggested that Leona might be willing to make and donate a custom gift basket. Dave is hoping to get a donation from the Golf Course Pro Shop. Ruth was supposed to check with Helvetia Pub about a free dinner donation. Kathleen suggested a Camp 18 might donate a free dinner. Mary asked if anyone knew anybody who would donate a time share.

CURRENT FUNDRAISING
FLOWER BULB FUNDRAISER
The Flower Bulb fundraiser netted us $787.05 ! It was a very sucessful fundraiser and Ruth said people can still order through the middle of April if anyone wants to still get some bulbs.
COOKBOOK
The Cookbook is ready to be printed except for a decision on what kind of cover and divider pages we want. #399 Cover D500 Art seemed to be a favorite of most in attendance as it looked like it would fit in with the memoribilia theme of the Cookbook. Leona is going to look for old pictures of North Plains that could be used and Kathleen will provide some history on Jesse May Park to include. It will not be possible to have it all done by May but hopefully we can have it ready to sell by June.
CAN COLLECTION--BLUE BARRELS
Glen and Steve and Tabitha Powers offered to do the can collection redemption. Tabitha said her 13 year old daughter would be willing to help. They all agreed to get together and load up the cans once a week. Dave said he would see to it that the signs that were put up on the blue barrels that said: "no more cans were being collected" are taken down and maybe a notice should be put in the May Water Bills that we are still collecting. Mary said we do receive about $50.00 a week from the can collection.
IN CLOSING:
Brandon stated that it seemed we needed more community awareness as alot of people don't even know we have a website or what we are doing. No one was quite sure how to go about changing this as we don't have a community newspaper. It was suggested maybe posting flyers about our events around town and maybe even getting someone from radio or tv to do a story on us. Kathleen mentioned Joe on the Go as a suggestion.
Our Next Committee Meeting was not set but it was discussed being moved from Thursday night to Saturday afternoon or evening.
Meeting ended at 8:22 PM
