No War but the Class War Home Page
No War but the Class War formed in response to the events of Sept 11 and the launching of the "war on terrorism" but shares a name and some participants with earlier groupings that formed against the Gulf War and Kosovo war. Whether we call ourselves anarchists, communists or perhaps reject any label the essential core of the politics we gather round is opposition to the war on a class basis. This means:
1)We reject the liberal leftist pacifist position which claims to oppose the war but in appealing to ideas of 'International Law' 'Justice' etc. accepts and reinforces the very framework of nation states of which war is one expression.
2)We reject the "leftist" position of taking sides in capitalist conflicts on the basis of the supposed 'anti-imperialist' character of one of the combatents.
3)We see the real means of defeating war to lie in the the escalation of class struggle, in the tradition of for example: the mutinies and revolutions that ended WW1; the fraggings and general insubordination that helped force an American withdrawl from Vietnam; and the revolts within Iraq that ended the Gulf War (but which the US and its allies then supported Sadaam Hussain in suppressing)
4)We don't want to be just a talking shop but seek ways to become practicallly involved in the wider class struggle whether it directly relates to the "war issue" or not.
