This engine is a recent purchase (spring '00) and I don't have a lot of info on it yet. I have started it and had the enjoyable experience of a runaway engine! The governor needs work and adjustment, and the flywheel that it is on is loose on the crankshaft. Therefore, the first time I started it, it never missed! I quickly put my hand over the mixer intake and flooded it to stop it. I adjusted the gov. somewhat and restarted it and it ran fair to poor. The rings are really bad and compression is almost non-existant! Other than that, mechanically the engine seems in pretty good shape. The rod bearing needs adjustment, and possibly the mains as well. This should be a nice engine once some basic problems are taken care of.
