Its raining now outside, but i have training at West Coast at 7pm... weather station says showers with thunder expected in the west for the next 3 hours... so how? do i go for training or not? calling up my teammates but no one seems to wanna pick up their handphones... bummer... i can only wait...

Just found out the title of my FYP is: Applications of PBG materials to Antenna Design Microwave Component.
What this essentially means is: I'm in deep shit
Aalthough I know what an antenna is(Things that u dun see on Nokia handphones) and i also know what a microwave is(Oven)... i have no idea what PBG is, and in any case, the title makes it sound like it has very little relationship to the modules which i am gonna take next year... how the hell did they allocate that to me? it sounds more like a Mechanical Enginnering FYP!!! i m so fried! i din get any of the choices i indicated... help!
On a side note, my dad just gave out 3 hearty sneezes...each time he sneezed, i could hear the echos coming back from the flats next to mine, and it was a very reverberating kind of echo... i kid u not!

Literally! Coz once again, back in the comfort of my own room, due to the considerably slower service i get at home, i only get to see on the screen what i type on my keyboard about 10 words later... sheesh! ok i exaggerate... make that 11 words! I'm gonna start pulling my hair out soon...
Oh, and now that IA is over, i m gonna keep my hair long... so that i look like a greasy Italian... nah... not greasy nor italian, but long nonetheless... coz i only have 1 year left to enjoy feeling the wind in my hair...
hmm... its been a few days since i last had to wake up at 7 in the morning... and it feels great to be an owl again... i like nights... coz they're cooler than the days. and i dun just mean figuratively...

Last day in Motorola! WooHoo! This is probably my last entry from my little cubicle on the 6th floor of the Motorola Innovation Centre at Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 3...
I'll be busy packing all my stuff into cardboard boxes for the rest of the day... haha nah, i'm kidding... but i will be busy clearing up and getting signatures for clearances and saying my goodbyes and maybe, just maybe, and hopefully, con another free lunch from my boss... hehehe
After today, this blog just ain't gonna be updated on as regular a basis as the past few months... too bad...

For those in need of a caffeine boost with a twist, try this:
1. 2 generous teaspoons of Milo/Ovaltine
2. 2 generous teaspoons of instant coffee mix
3. Add hot water
4. Add creamer and sugar to taste
5. Stir (Duh!)
and of course, please do all the above in a cup/mug (double Duh!), and not directly in your mouth. it just wun taste the same that way, i assure you
actually, jut vary the proportions to suit your taste. i learnt this trick back in my airforce days from a colleague... it does taste pretty good, though i think Milo will work better than Ovaltine coz its more chocolatey... it sure beats just drinking the coffee mix coz the coffee mix they provide in the pantry here sucks!

Ooops! Ok as Renee reminded me, it was a KFC Green Goblin, and not McDonald's... blame it all on McDonald's aggressive branding... i associate almost all fastfood toys with them...
Ooops! Italy was sent crashing out of the World Cup by co-host Korea! I am devastated! They were my favourites for the title! blame it all on poor finishing and lack of concentration... i could say something about the refereeing too, but i guess its pretty human nature to favour the home team, especially when you have thousands and thousands of crazed Korean, all dressed in red, ready to pounce on you or crucify you if you made a bad decision against their "Corea"
Ooops! 2nd last day in Motorola... i am happily counting down... blame it all on the lack of sleep everyday when i have to crawl out of bed to go to work... otherwise, i quite enjoy it here... =)

yessiree bob! 3 days left for IA... actually my IA lasts til the end of this week, but i have 2 days of leave left which i intend to clear tomorrow and on Friday...woohoo!!!
only thing is, after that, no more free internet access from 8 to 5 during weekdays... so i probably will update less often... too bad... unless someone wanna sponsor me unlimited broadband at home? anyone? hahaha
Anyway, though i'm still slightly sick, i went down to Marina Promenade to have a look at the Dragonboat race yesterday... it was pretty exciting... plus, there were lotsa people ard in wet T-shirts... including girls!!! droolfest? nah not really... some of the female dragonboat rowers looked rather too manly for my liking... still lotsa people to watch while waining between races... =)
probably the most common and lamest joke going around yesterday would be for the dragonboat rowers to throw dumplings into the river... but i guess no one realised that Qu Yuan isn't at the bottom of Singapore river... any dumpling dumped in will just be a waste...
saw the Duck Tour vehicle swim by in between 2 races... what a bonus for the duck tourists to catch a close-up glimpse of the action, eh? so exciting... think i'll join the dragonboat race next year...

Wow Friday again... isn't it amazing how time just zips you by? seems like just last week i was at Mindy's birthday party... wait a minute, it was last week! whatever, time really zips by fast... 1 more week left for my IA! i am looking forward to sleeping in til late evening everyday... wahahaha
i still feel sick though... woke up this morning feeling so giddy i was practically stumbling my way out of the room... how i wish i can just crawl back and snuggle up in bed... but alas! duty calls!

Today is Joey's last day of IA, whereas i still have 1 more week to go... she's going off early for her Australian trip, coz she prudently saved up her leave to clear at one shot, whereas I used up my leave as and when i felt like... still have a couple days leave to use though... farewell Joey, enjoy yourself down under... anyway, Joey is training a new intern right now... at least i'll still have company for another week... the new intern's a gal from NUS Bizad and will be here til August... Lucky me gets to know yet another gal... bleah =P
Argentina crashed out of the World Cup yesterday. i feel sorry for the country. They are in turmoil as it is and now their only "hope" is sent packing by a resolute Swedish defence... well, i think its a deserved slap back in Maradona's face, but i sympathise the citizens of Argentina... too bad the Swedes played with lotsa guts and balls... hmm... Just got back from a super long lunch at a chinese restaurant with the dept... supposed to be a farewell lunch (for Joey and me) cum birthday celebration for Nick the big boss, man... left at ard 12noon... and just reached back... shiok! pics will be up as soon as i get them...
Lakers just beat Nets 99-95 in game 1 of the NBA playoff finals... they had a 23 pt lead at one stage of the game but the Nets clawed their way back slowly. The Lakers just did enough to hang on to the lead for victory. i have a feeling its gonna be a Lakers title once again...

Had a freaky dream last night... I was back in my secondary school days, and was having flag-raising in the morning, when after the national anthem and everything was settled, the discipline master, Mr. Moses Wong, pulled me up and chided me for having long hair, the way my hair actally is right now... Man, secondary school was like hore than 8 years ago! Wonder what that dream meant? maybe its a sign for me to bet on teams which dun have long hair players... oh no! bad omen for Italy!
Anyway, China lost its opening game to Costa Rica... would probably fare better against the Brazillians in their next game if they field players from ShaoLin...

Damn if only i'm in my first or second year instead of my third year of studies now... then i'll just be camping at home everyday to watch the World Cup, go out chiong at night after the last match of the day, come back and sleep til lunch time, camp at home to watch soccer, go out chiong after the last match of the day, come back and sleep til lunch time... okok, so i'm supposed to repeat that sequence for like 20 something times, but i have better things to do with my time... yeah right, who am i kidding? i have things to do but i'm doing what i'm best at: procrastinating...
Anyway, these days, i no longer go chiong like i used to... nowadays, its more likely just sitting down with my friends at some pub or something to drink, talk, and ogle... ok, so my other friends do more ogling... i m pretty contented just chilling out... no real motivation for me to check people out... unless they do something to grab my attention... sigh, is that a sign of old age?
Lately, the hang-out of choice for my old pals is Broadwalk at Millenia Walk, and the weapon of choice for me and Weiliang is usually Carlsberg. I shall Gracefully refrain from saying why we end up there most of the time, Zejun...
Anyone saw the ridiculous piece of play-acting by Rivaldo last night in the dying moments of stoppage time against Turkey last night? Hakan Unsal kicked the ball to Rivaldo as he prepared to take a corner, and the ball hit Rivaldo somewhere hear the mid-riff... but Rivaldo fell onto the ground, clutched his face and rolled about as if he was whacked in the face! unfortunately everything was caught on tape... Absolutely disgraceful... Nvm... China will kick the Brazilian ass on Saturday! hehe

End of my days of being wild... anyway there's less than 3 weeks for me to go... so i'm not too concerned... still have to plan which days to use up my last 3 days of leave for optimum World Cup enjoyment... hehehe

Zejun has been exchanging emails with me since i got to work, deciding which teams to bet on and how best to hedge our money to minimise losses... but thats quite difficult, coz having only one legalised betting firm, its impossible to have fool-proof hedging... i think i shall just give up on that... i think bookies definitely offer better odds... but then...

Back from a weekend of football watching... Think Renee must have been pretty bored with/of me this weekend... oops
Senegal pulled off the greatest upset so far on the opening day, when they beat the arrogant French cocks 1-0... judging from the celebration scenes at the end of the game, you would think they have just won the World Cup... oh well... if only i had acted on my gut feel and put money on the Senegal team... could be a fair deal richer now...
England sucked big time. They should have played Hesky as an out-and-out forward instead of on the left wing... he would have been much more effective, be it winning long balls, or earning freekicks. instead, Vassell partnered Owen which may have been more effective against a lesser-team like, say, Saudi Arabia... So much for tactics... England best wake up their idea or they will not make it past the first round...
Havent seen Italy play yet, will ruch home after work to catch their game against Ecudor later... Italy is still my favourite to lift the cup this year...
