So I was at Junction 8 for lunch after soccer yesterday. A couple of girls were sitting on the floor, next to this poster that said that the queue for Vic Chou's (one of the F4 boys) autograph session starts there. Wow, I thought that they were early man, coz there was no one else queuing up behind them yet. Read a little more of the poster, and I realised that the autograph session is scheduled for 31 January... The lengths some people go to for their idols... Sigh... |

Ok, so I took a long break from blogging. It was all unplanned for. It just so happened that Chinese New year crept up on me suddenly, and I found my time so well utilised. Let's review what I did the past few days, shall we? Last Sunday, I went down to Sentosa after soccer. It was blazing hot during the game, but when I got to Sentosa, it suddenly started to rain. That was a bummer. But we still hung around, and eventually, saw a bit of the setting sun. Naturally, we were at Sunset Bay when that happened. Dinner and beer at Sunset Bay, and then more drinks at Wala after that. Public Service Announcement: The Sirloin Steak at Sunset Bay sucks. Order at your own risk. Monday was the long awaited return of Weiliang for a holiday from Iowa. Long-awaited not because he's been there for 4 months, but rather coz he was treating us to a seafood dinner. Anyway it was great to see him after so long. Of course, subsequently, I've been seeing him too often, and can't wait for him to go off again. He has been blocking my mahjong luck. And of course there was lots of gambling over the Chinese New year. Lots of visiting and visitors too. My little nephew and nieces came over with my relatives on the first day, and man, I swear they were trying to rip my room to pieces. They were abusing all my toys and my guitar, football, and bed. "ooh, so cute!", you might say. It's funny for the first 5 minutes. Try spending the entire afternoon with them. I pity my cousins. A nice surprise for everyone was the video New Year greeting Zunjie emailed to us. I later found out that he's started to blog too. So here's a plug: go here. On the second day of CNY, I went for a popiah, lunch at my air force friend's place. It was nice to meet up with them. Later that evening, I went to a party at Joe Ng's apartment, at Jeanne's invitation. Lots of drinks and music flowing around that night. His apartment is very well-kept, I must say, and in his home office, he has tons and tons of CDs. In fact, the CDs covered practically one of the walls of his office! Oh, and he has a pet named Bobby too. It's a dog though, but he was way too horny that night. Everywhere he went, he was doing the pelvic thrust. Grossly hilarious. On the third day of CNY (hope this doesn't become a song), I went to catch the Last Emperor by the Hong Kong Ballet. I am not a arty-farty ballet person. But the theme was interesting, and it would be my first trip to the Esplanade Theatre. Oddly, despite it being ballet, I enjoyed the performance. I couldn't follow everything that was happening, but I managed to get the big picture. And I must say that I am impressed with the theatre and the staff. Following that, went to Junming's place for another New Year party-cum-birthday celebration for Lufeng, Youcong and Bernard. It was meant as a surprise (birthday part I mean), but unfortunately Lufeng left before we could spring the surprise on them. Anyway, the highlight of that night for me was my unbelievable luck being the dealer at blackjack. I guess that makes up for the bad luck I've been having at mahjong. Ok I think that's about it. You must be cross-eyed by now if you had faithfully read every word of this entry to this stage. One good way to uncross your eyes would be to read this entry backwards starting from here. =P |

This may take a while... This month is a busy month in terms of birthdays. Celebrated Tse Chuan's at The Living Room on Friday night. It was my first time there, and well, it was actually bigger and more spacious than I had imagined it to be... Well, a picture is worth a thousand words, and so to spare you the agony of a long essay, see pics here. Saturday, I went to a BBQ at Wencong's place, followed by "Paycheck" at Cineleisure. The film was enjoyable. Well-paced and intriguing enough to keep you guessing along with Ben throughout the show. I'm not gonna put any spoilers here for those who hasn't caught it, but it did seem very much like another version of "Minority Report", and there are some inconsistencies in the film. But I shall just leave it as the director's artistic license, and forgive John Woo, as it was one of the better thrillers I've seen this year. What am I saying? It's the first thriller I've seen this year... And oh, to those in the know, this time, only a single white dove in the show, and it's blatantly computer generated... Another point to note about the late night trip to the movie, is that there were a lot of cute girls around at the cinema. Young, they may be, but I've never thought of age as a factor... haha Unfortunately, they were mainly with their boyfriends, and also I dun have the guts to do anything about them other than to admire from a distance. My life is at stake. Also, bumped into Ryan, my course-mate back in the good old days in SCTS. He's leaving the force and applying to be a pilot with SIA. May the force be with him. Phew, that was a long post, but wait! I'm not done yet! Played soccer in the rain today. Shiok! The rain was very erratic, coming down at us heavy at times, and light otherwise. I've always enjoyed soccer in the rain, but the pitch does get a bit too water-logged. The ball can just stop moving all of a sudden, seemingly against the laws of motion. That's when we will all laugh at the person who tried to dribble the ball but kena tackled by the water. Of course, my clothes and boots are all soaked at the end of the game, but hey, I don't do my own washing... =P Ok you have now reached the end of this post. You may breathe now. |

Been stuck at home almost the whole week. And I'm finally leaving the house today to go to school to meet up with my supervisor later, but of all the days this week, it has to rain today. Right now, it's pouring very heavily outside... Makes me wanna go back to sleep... Apparently, Heaven's against me trying to be productive... Argh! |

The new guy's name shall be "Didi", as in short for Dietmar, as in Didi Hamann. Actually, it all started out this morning when dad started calling him "Di di", as in "younger brother" in chinese. After the initial few hours of chasing and trying to hump each other, Bobby and Didi have settled down quite nicely. In fact, Bobby almost never leaves Didi side. Like a loving older brother. How sweet. |

The highlight to an otherwise boring day, was the trip to the pet store and coming back with the new guy:
He hasn't been named yet. I thought of Billy, or Dobie, but my parents wanted something that doesn't sound like Bobby. Any suggestions? Oh, and another thing. The skin on my nose is now peeling after playing soccer in the morning sun on Sunday. I feel like a snake... Bwahahaha |

Wah, somehow we managed to pull off a 11th-hour last-minute New Year's Eve gathering at my place last night. Sheesh. Talk about efficiency. Anyway, I thought it was a pretty fun gathering considering all of us are actually losers who didn't get invited to any parties... haha Anyway, I thought the New Year celebration at Sentosa by Mediacorps was so lame. I mean, you pay so much to squeeze into the small area, to see their crappy performances. What a waste of money. And the so-called Singapore version of "Are you hot?" was the dumps, man. If those on stage are the most gorgeous people in Singapore, God save us! The Taiwanese channels had much better programs. This fortune teller on TV said that those born in the year of the snake will have good fortune in the year 2004. Lucky me. And last but not least, some pics from when I went JB the other weekend: JB Shenanigans
