The 2nd New Jersey participated in the 140th Anniversary of the dedicaton of the Gettysburg National Park, where Lincoln gave his famous "Gettysburg Address" on November 19, 1863. Each year on the nearest weekend to that date, there is a grand parade of both Union and Confederate reenactors through town. The parade ends at the high water mark of the Confederacy, the Angle where Pickett's charge was repulsed. The ceremony ends with the Gettysburg Address and the reenactors of both sides shake hands over the wall where Pickett's Charge was repulsed.
Prior to the parade this year, the members of the 2nd New Jersey met with their brothers from the 3rd New Jersey and marched to the monument erected to the 1st New Jersey Brigade who were on the battlefield in July of 1863. There we laid a wreath in rememberance of the men who struggled in the conflict.
