You're Gonna Wanna Take Me Home Tonight
“So he’s still not doing it for you, huh?”

Tristan sighed, “Not even close. I don’t know if he just is afraid to ask what I want or what… but this is crazy, Ang. It’s just ‘kiss lips, grab tits, stick it in, in-out in-out, it’s over. Call me selfish, but I need a little more attention than that.”

Angela laughed over the phone line, she could just imagine the hand gestures Tristan would have been making as she said all that. “Does he go down on you?”

Tristan scoffed, “No. I’m not even sure he’s heard of that phrase.”

“Do you do it for him?”

“Hell no! If I’m not getting anything, neither is he!”

“Maybe that’s what he’s waiting for… like, ‘do me, then I’ll do you’.” Angela said.

“I’m sorry, I don’t work like that. He’s got to show he’s at least making an attempt for me before he gets anything.”

“What do you do then?”

“Wait ‘til he’s done, gets off of me and falls asleep, then I take care of myself.” Tristan replied.

“That is sad, Tris.”

“Tell me about it! Why do I have a boyfriend again? I had better sex when I was single!” Tristan grumbled.

“Have you seen Nick recently?” Angela asked. She knew Tristan was referring to him.

Tristan wasn’t surprised that question had followed the statement she made. She knew Angela would know who she was talking about. “No….” she said quietly.

“You miss him don’t you?”

“Yeah…” Before she let herself get wrapped up in thoughts of him again, she added, “I miss you, too.”

“I know, I miss you, too! Spring is driving me crazy.” Angela said.

“That’s what you get for trying to live with your sister again. It’ll never be as cool as living with me.” Tristan told her.

“That’s for sure! There was never a dull moment with you.”

“Is it alright, honey?”

Tristan turned her head to give Ethan an exasperated look. “You don’t have to ask my permission to play pool with your friends, and do NOT call me honey.”

“Sorry sweetheart.” Ethan replied, kissing her cheek and heading off to the pool tables.

Tristan mumbled under her breath and took another drink of her rum and coke. She’d come to the point that she almost hated going clubbing with Ethan- he’d never dance with her, but got all upset if she’d dance with another guy. She wondered what he thought she was supposed to be doing while he played pool… or why they came out anyway, it’s not like he couldn’t drink and shoot pool at home. She watched everyone on the dance floor, imagining all the couples out there that would go home and have great sex tonight after getting all worked up while dancing. Damn she was jealous.

“Tristan!”

Tristan looked around, trying to see who was calling her name. She’d gotten so lost in her thoughts it’d taken her a bit to realize someone was calling her.

“Why you sitting here all alone? I know you have a standing offer for a better night than this…”

Tristan whirled around at the sound of the voice coming from her other side. “NICK!”

Nick smiled, pleased at her reaction. He wrapped his arms around her when she jumped up to hug him. Maybe she did miss him. He’d often wondered if she thought about him as much as he thought about her. When she let go of him, he asked, “You do remember my offer, right?”

Tristan felt a heat spreading through her body. If only he knew how many times a day she thought of that offer- of just running back to him and begging him to let her be with him again. She nodded, “Of course I do…”

“Then why haven’t you taken me up on it?” he asked, his hand casually sliding around her waist, stopping at the small of her back.

Tristan was trying her best to ignore the feeling of his touch- even the slight and fairly innocent gesture was killing her- she missed it so much. “I.. I have a … boyfriend…” she whispered, unwilling to say it any louder.

Nick looked a little shocked and withdrew his hand. “Oh… I didn’t know…”

“How would you have?”

Nick glanced around, “Is he here?”

Tristan nodded, “Over at the pool table with that group of guys… he’s in the red shirt, black hair…”

Nick looked over and spotted him quickly.

Tristan watched Nick sizing up Ethan, her own eyes roaming over Nick’s body, very clearly remembering what he looked like naked.

“I can do better than he can.” Nick finally said.

“That’s for damn sure.”

Nick looked surprised again, “What?”

“You said you can do better than him, and you’re right. You do everything better than he does.” Tristan said, looking up at Nick, making eye contact with him.

“I miss you, Tristan.”

She smiled, that was random, but exactly what she wanted and needed to hear. “I miss you, too… all the time.”

“Why are you with him?” Nick asked, sitting down in the seat next to the one Tristan had settled back into.

“I just wanted to be with someone…when I didn’t have you… I had no intentions of getting serious with him, and I still don’t… but he seems to have become extremely attached…”

“But you’re not happy with him.” Nick said, rather than asked. He could tell she wasn’t happy and he didn’t like that, because he knew she’d be happy if she was with him.

“No. I mean, he’s a great guy, he’s very sweet… but he’s just not what I need.” she replied.

‘But I am’, Nick thought. “I’m single now…” he said, putting the information out there to test Tristan’s response.

“What happened to Brooke?” she asked. Now she was curious… she could tell he was going somewhere with all this, and from what she could see, she liked where it was heading.

“I broke up with her when she got back from that trip she went on… that weekend that I thought we’d spend together and then you told me you weren't going to see me at all any more…”

Tristan gave him a little smile. “She wasn’t good for you.”

“But you were.” Nick said, looking right at her. “Is there anyway I can talk you into seeing me again? Even if it’s just talking… I miss you and I want to be able to be with you sometimes… not just think about you all the time.”

Even though she knew she shouldn’t, Tristan said, “Yes”.

“Will you come over… tomorrow night, maybe… we’ll just, uh, talk?” he asked, in a mix of relief and hope.

She shook her head ‘no’.

“Okay, why not?”

“You come over to my place this time.” Tristan said.

Nick smiled. “Alright… Angela busy then?”

“Ang doesn’t live with me anymore… she got transferred to Michigan… she’s living with her older sister up there.” she told him.

“Oh… so, then, you have the place to yourself? The boyfriend doesn’t stay over?”

“All to myself… I don’t let him spend the night… I stay over at his place sometimes… but never at my house.” Tristan said.

Nick somehow liked that- that he was getting to be at her place when she wouldn’t let her boyfriend stay. He impulsively leaned over at kissed her, having to consciously fight the urge to slide his hands up over her thighs.

Tristan was breathless and delighted when pulled away from her. That was what a kiss was supposed to be.  She happened to turn and look in the direction of the pool tables then, “Shit… he’s coming back over here…”

Nick quickly got up, “I’ll see you tomorrow night.” He winked and walked away from her, knowing she’d be thinking of him the rest of the night, just as he would be thinking of her.

Tristan tried her best to recover in the few seconds it took Ethan to get to her. Her mind was reeling from the kiss and all that had just happened.

As Ethan approached her, he reached for her hand. “C’mon, let’s go back to my place.”

Tristan got up and followed him- she knew what he wanted and she wasn’t entirely unwilling to oblige him. She was wound up now, just that kiss from Nick had been enough- and maybe that would be enough to let her get something out of sex with Ethan. Though she’d have rather been going home with Nick, she’d take what she could get for now.

As they walked out to the car, Ethan said, “One of the guys told me he saw that gay Backstreet guy at the bar tonight.”

Tristan looked at him, “That gay Backstreet guy?”

“You know, that blonde one.”

“Nick? He thinks Nick is gay?!?” Tristan could barely contain her laughter. “Nick is definitely NOT gay…  your friend is just jealous.”

Ethan gave her an odd look, “How do you know?”

‘Shit’. She quickly answered, “I heard that whole gay thing was just a rumor.” She slid her hand in his back pocket and squeezed his ass, trying to take his mind off what she’d said about Nick.
