Chapter Fifteen
Jourdin put the last of the dishes into the dishwasher after her family had gone home. She’d had a great time with them, and had promised they’d all do something together over the weekend to take advantage of the little bit of time Jaxon could be in town.

She was glad that it was just her and Nick now, she felt like they had a lot of things to talk about- things she’d been putting off while getting caught up in studying and making sure she had everything ready to graduate, but now she was ready to talk all night about everything.

She skipped up the steps, wondering where Nick had disappeared to- she hadn’t seen him since she’d started clearing off the table. She walked into their room- bathed in candlelight- and found him laying on the bed, wearing only the pajama pants that she loved so much.  She crawled into bed and over beside him, “Hey sexy.”

Nick slipped his arms around her, bringing her down onto his chest. He kissed her forehead, “I am so proud of you, Boo.”

“Thank you so much… this last semester was so hard… I can’t imagine what it would have been like without you.” She said, softly, her palm slipping across his cheek.

“I don’t even want to think about that… being without you.” Nick said. He sat up, bring Jourdin with him, “I want to show you something.” He set her down and led her through the hall to the office where all the awards he’d collected as a Backstreet Boy were kept. “See anything different?”

Jourdin glanced around the room at the various shelves and cases and wall space full of awards, plaques, gold, platinum and diamond records… and in the corner, closest to Nick’s desk she saw a new lighted cabinet- with her diploma on display. She walked closer to it, more than a little surprised.

“Of all the things in this room- that’s what I’m most proud of.” Nick said, walking up behind her, slipping his hands around her waist.

Jourdin turned to look at him, nearly in tears. “You’re so good to me… “she whispered.

Nick pulled her into a hug, “You worked so hard and you deserve that so much… I wanna show off how smart my girl is.”

Jourdin didn’t try to stop the little tears sliding down her cheeks- she didn’t think she could be much happier than this. She took another look at the display cabinet, and took Nick’s hand, taking him back to their bedroom.

Nick watched as she stopped at the edge of the bed and slowly undressed, his eyes taking in her every movement.

She lay down on the bed and motioned for him to come to her. She tried not to giggle as he nearly tripped trying to get out of his pajama pants.  She held her arms open for him as he crawled up the bed, settling his body on hers and kissing her passionately.  Everything she’d been thinking about during the day seemed even more right to her at that moment, as her arms circled him, holding him close to her.

Nick trailed his kisses down her neck, to her chest, taking light nips at her collarbone and down to her breasts. He felt her fingers slipping through his hair, tugging gently, causing him to moan against her.  He moved back up to kiss her lips again, his tongue sliding over her lips and dancing with hers.

Without breaking their kiss, Jourdin’s hands slid down her body between them, gently grasping Nick’s still swelling penis and guiding him inside her. She held him still for a moment, breathing deeply and allowing herself to luxuriate in the feeling of him continuing to get harder inside her body.

Nick finally had to pull away from her, moaning at the warm wetness surrounding him, and the tickle of her nails skidding over his shoulders and down his back. He looked in her eyes, saying “I love you, Boo.” Before dropping his head to place teasing kisses along the line of her jaw and just below her ear, making her shudder.

Jourdin wrapped her legs around him, allowing him to slide as deep as possible inside her. She became breathless as soon as he began slowly thrusting, his hips rocking against her.

As much as Nick wanted to let himself be lost in the moment- feeling her all around him, he couldn’t get his mind off the things she’d said earlier- what if she did take a job and he’d have to spend nights alone again? He hated the thought of it and could feel himself beginning to respond to those thoughts- he was holding her tighter, like he was afraid to let her go… moving faster as if she might leave him soon. He closed his eyes, fearing he might cry if kept thinking those things.

Jourdin gasped at his movements, working her body with his, wanting to be wherever he seemed to be, somewhere she couldn’t quite tell from the look on his face, she was unsure whether he was lost in pleasure or thinking of something else. “Babyboy?”

Nick opened his eyes to look at her, immediately overwhelmed at everything he felt when he looked in her eyes. His heart was pounding- and he knew it was only partly because of their lovemaking. “Tell me you love me, Boo.” he whispered.

Jourdin hugged him tightly and gently bringing his head down to speak softly into his ear, “I love you, Nick… forever.. for always… I promise…” Her words became moans that trailed off into gasps for breath as Nick’s movements become more powerful, as if he’d just needed to be reassured by her voice, and what she was saying.

He’d needed to hear that, she loved him like he loved her, and they’d be able to work through anything, any distance… but he had her with him for the moment, and he wanted to be able to enjoy that. “Just let go…” he mumbled, telling himself without realizing he’d also said it out loud. He could feel Jourdin’s hands pressing into his lower back and her legs tightening around him as she began to tremble.

Nick held her tightly, breathlessly sighing her name as his climax overtook his body.  Jourdin bit down just slightly on his shoulder as she came, every muscle in her body reacting to the spasms of pleasure.

Jourdin took a few shaky breaths, before laughing lightly, “Okay, we’ve officially celebrated my graduation now.”

Nick didn’t respond, but rolled over her, lying on his back and snuggling her against his chest. It may not have been the most romantic topic of conversation to bring up, but he couldn’t stand it anymore- he had to ask, had to know if he was going to go crazy missing her again. “Boo.. what were you talking about earlier… about job offers… you never said anything about that to me…”

Jourdin looked up at him, suddenly knowing what had been on his mind. She kissed his lips softly. “I got a few offers.. one from one of my professors businesses, and two from inside the college…”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

Jourdin rearranged herself, propping herself up to look into her eyes. “I didn’t tell you because I told them all no.”

Nick looked confused, “But you told your parents…”

“Yeah, I sort of lied. They did say they’d wait until after graduation for my final decision, but I told them all last week that I didn’t want the positions.” She said.

“Oh… okay…” Nick was happy with her answer, maybe he wouldn’t have to give her up again. “Why’d you say no?”

“Because I’m not really that excited about the idea of a job right now… there are other things I’d rather do.”

“Such as?”

“I want you to marry me.”

A grin quickly lit up Nick’s face, “Are you asking me?”

Jourdin giggled, “Yeah, I guess I am.”

“Well, then I say yes.” Nick said, hugging her tightly. He really was going to get to keep her. “God I love you.”

Jourdin leaned down to kiss him. “I love you, too. You were right… it always comes around.. I just had to finish school so I could stop worrying about it…and now.. I just want to concentrate on you… I want to be wherever you are.”

“Right now there is nowhere else I want to be. “ Nick said, softly, his hands roaming lazily over Jourdin’s warm body.

“Me neither” she sighed, laying her head back on his shoulder and sliding her arm across his chest.

After a few moments of silence, Nick nudged her. “I gotta question…”

Jourdin looked up at him, “Okay…”

“Since you asked me… who wears the engagement ring?"
