TUESDAY - Dawn
He would be here any minute.  I checked the clock on the VCR for the tenth time.

Yes…11:55… any minute now.  Kelly had promised to deliver Nick by 12am Tuesday after
Nick’s first day of fun and *ahem* relaxation away from the all the pressures and stress of the entertainment world.  None of us knew what the others were going to do with him, or do to him.   We had a few vague ideas, but we’d discuss all that later.  After we all had our turn with him.  Each of our little group had a day to show Nick the real world, real people, real life.  Man, what a concept.

The phone had rung about a half hour ago.  Kelly's words still rang in my head.

“Dawn!  Long time, no talk!”  Kelly giggled and I could just picture her face as she laughed conspiratorially.  “He’s on his way and he’s all yours!  We’ll see you at the end of the week to compare notes.  Enjoy!”

I heard tires crunch the gravel in the driveway and I smoothed my hands over my hair and clothes for a quick once over.  The car door slammed and a small knock sounded at the door.  Showtime.

I opened the door and drew in my breath as I gazed at the tall blonde standing in front of me.  He was more gorgeous than I had imagined.  Pictures do him no justice at all.

“Dawn?”  He stuck out his hand and gave me a quizzical look.

“That’s me.”  I took the offered hand and savored the feeling of it covering mine.  It was hard holding my feelings for him in.  He would know soon enough.  “You look confused.”

“I am, a little.”  He admitted.  “I’m still not really sure what’s going on here.”

“Come in.”  I ushered him into the living room, away from the confines of the narrow hallway.  “Have a seat.”

Nick fell into the overstuffed chair across from the TV and sighed deeply.  He looked tired and, as he mentioned, still slightly confused.  His blue eyes were darting around the room.  I wasn’t really sure what he expected to find.

I sat across from him and eyed him with a smirk. “You’re having fun though, right?”
Even if he tried to lie his face would betray him, it always did.

“I…I…well…yeah.”  He grinned.  “Today was fun, Kelly’s cool.”

“You had a good time?”  I questioned once more.

“Yeah, it was a good day.  Nice being away from it all for a bit.”  Nick admitted.

“Good.”  I patted his knee softly.  “Ready for bed?”

“Bed?”  He raised his eyebrows at me.

I laughed.  “Yeah, bed.  Beds are for sleeping.  You look tired and it’s late.  It’s time for bed.”

“Just sleeping?”  He looked a little scared.  He was so cute.

‘God Kelly, what the hell did you do with him?’  I wondered to myself.  I grinned at Nick and took his hand again.

“Yes, just sleeping.  We have all day for whatever else might come up.”  I assured him.

“There is a slight catch though.”

“A catch?”  The nervousness made his voice tremor.

“It’s nothing bad, at least I don’t think it is.”  I tugged on his hand and pulled him up to a standing position.  I tugged again and pulled him in the direction of the stairs.  “You see, it’s like this...”

We were halfway up the stairs and I turned around to face him.  He kind of gulped; you could almost see the nerves jangling just under his skin.

“I only have one bed.”

~~~~~
I awoke with an arm around my shoulders, blonde hair tickling my nose and Nick’s warm breath blowing on my neck.  His head was tucked into the crook of my neck and shoulder and our bodies were almost melded together.  I swear we started the night off separately.  Nick on his side of the bed – in his boxers and t-shirt, arms crossed over his chest.  I was in an oversize t-shirt and shorts on my side of the bed.  We talked for a bit before sleep came over us, but obviously our inner desires had drawn us to each other in our sleep.  I sighed as I ruffled my fingers through Nick’s soft hair.  The last thing I wanted to do was wake him up, he seemed quite content, but the day wouldn’t last forever and I wanted to make the most of my time with him.
~~~~~

“I’m sorry for last night.”  Nick apologized through a mouthful of Fruit Loops.

“What do you mean?”  I handed him a freshly buttered piece of toast, before sitting across from him and digging into my cereal.

“I…we…I shouldn’t have taken advantage like that last night.”

“You didn’t do anything.  We just slept.  And…held each other.”

“I should have offered to sleep on the floor, or the sofa.”  Nick protested.

“Nick…you saw my sofa.  You would never have slept comfortably on there.”

“But I…”

I reached across the table and took his hand in mine.  “Do you hear me complaining?”

He frowned.  “No.”

“Then don’t worry about it.  You were a perfect gentleman.”

“Most chicks complain when I’m a perfect gentleman.”  Nick smirked before he bit into his toast.  “They want me to be nasty.”

I glanced at my watch and smirked right back at him.  “Plenty of time left for that.”

~~~~~~
“You know something?  I have never done this before.  Ever!”
I hung back and observed as Nick roamed through the antique shop.  He picked things up and examined them.
He called out to me in excitement when he saw something he liked or that he thought was ‘neat’.  It was like watching a kid in a toy store.  Which reminded me that we had yet to visit the toy store.  Nick, to his delight, found a pile of original Nintendo and Atari games and systems in the back room of the shop.  He happily paid for them and almost skipped over to me carrying his box of treasures.  I tried not to laugh, but he looked so damn cute.
“Look what I found!  This stuff is amazing!”  He beamed a bright smile.  “I am so glad we came here!”  Nick leaned over and kissed me on the cheek.  “Thank you so much, this is great!”
~~~~~~

At Nick’s insistence, we spent the rest of the morning combing through the various antique shops in town.  In addition to his video games, he found several 50’s style shirts that he thought were “totally awesome”, some “cool” cuff links, and three “off the chain” necklaces.
In the last store he came across a pink 50’s era suit jacket.  I urged him to try it on, expecting to hear protests about it being pink, bright pink, but he took it from me and put it on.

“Oh...my…God.  Nick.  All you need is to wear that with some black pants and a black dress shirt and you would look like a movie star from the 50’s!”  I exclaimed.

“You like?”  Nick twisted and turned, studying himself in the mirror.  “It fits great.

“It looks awesome on you.”  I solemnly assured him.

He honestly looked like a million bucks in the jacket; it was like it was made for him.

Nick smiled and walked to the counter, still wearing the jacket.  “Sold!”

~~~~~~
We found a nice outdoor café for lunch and relaxed on the patio while we waited for our food.  Nick took several swigs from his beer as he admired the scenery and watched people go by.  A couple of girls stopped and asked if he was Nick Carter but he nicely turned them aside by saying he was often mistaken for him.
“Thank you again.  This day has been great so far!”  Nick enthused as our lunches arrived.
“I’m glad you’re having a good time.  You look so much more relaxed than you did last night.”
Nick nodded and finished chewing a bite of hamburger.  “I’ve never been able to go shopping and stuff and not be bugged by fans.  I mean, I love them to death, but sometimes…” he let his words trail off.
“I know.  I often wonder how all of you manage to stay so nice and sweet to the fans when they are in your face all the time.  Especially on your down time.”
“It’s hard.”  Nick replied, seriously.  “I mean, the fans are why I’m where I am, you know?
Without them, I wouldn’t have a thing.  You have to be good to them.”
“You go above and beyond sometimes.”  I chided him.
“I have to.”  Nick stated.  “It’s just, you know, just the right thing to do.”
We finished off our lunch and wandered down the bike trail that ran behind the restaurant.  Nick grabbed my hand and held it tightly in his while we walked.  I looked down in surprise at our entwined hands and, I’m sure, smiled a dreamy smile.
“Look!  A playground!”  Nick yelled.  “C’mon!”
He pulled me along behind him as we ran to the swing set.  Nick settled me onto one and then plunked himself down on the swing beside me.  “Challenge?” His eyes glimmered as he grinned at me.
“What kind of challenge?”  I asked, cautiously.
“How high and long can you swing before you feel like puking!”  Nick laughed manically and pushed himself off.
I tried to keep up with him, but I was no match for his long legs.  He was soaring almost as high as the top bar, laughing with glee as he swung back and forth.  I had already started to slow my swing down as Nick hit the apex of his glide once again.  My breath caught in my throat as he threw himself off the swing and tumbled to the sand below.  He just lay there and I was ready to run to his aid when he finally rolled over and giggled uncontrollably.
“Holy shit!  I haven’t done that since I was a kid!”  Nick was still chuckling as he got to his knees and brushed the sand off his jeans.   “God!  That was so much fun!”  He stood and then grabbed my shoulder for support as he swayed.  “I think I’m gonna puke!”  I quickly ushered him to the nearest clump of bushes and patted his back as he leaned over.  I must have jumped about a mile when Nick turned suddenly, grabbed my face and yelled “Gotcha!”
“You’re just a big kid, aren’t you?”  I marveled at him, as we resumed our walk down the path and I recovered from my scare.
Nick slung his arm around my shoulder and kissed my cheek again.  “You know it!” he smirked.  “Ain’t it great?”
We ended up at a bike shop located at the middle of the path.  I suggested renting a pair of bikes and checking out more of the town.  That was, if Nick wanted to, of course.
“Do you know the last time I think I rode a bike, I think,  was in our video, like, 10 years ago?”
I laughed.  “It wasn’t quite that long ago!”
“No?  Feels like it.  Let’s do it!”
Nick and I started back down the bike path, riding side by side.  I pointed out various sites of interest to him and was amazed to find out how much we really had in common.  He often wanted to just stop and watch things – animals, people, bugs.  As I watched him, I wondered if he had ever had the opportunity to do stuff like this.  Probably not since he was a child and that was a shame.
“We should grab something for supper while we’re out this way.”  I suggested.  “There’s an amazing fresh fruit stand and meat market near here.  What do you feel like having?”
Nick thought for a moment and then smiled.  “Would a barbeque be possible?  I’m great on the grill!”
“Man, you read my mind!  Let’s grab some steaks!”
It was fun balancing all the grocery bags on the handlebars of the two bikes, but we managed.  At the market, Nick’s eyes almost bugged out of his head when he saw the selection of food available to him.  He finally chose some choice looking steaks; we got all the fixings for salad, potatoes for baking and a fantastic looking Key Lime pie for dessert.  We pedaled our way back to the house in near silence, enjoying the day, the weather and most of all, the company.
“Unbelievable!”  Nick pronounced, pushing his plate away.  “That was awesome!”
It was.  As promised, Nick was a terrific chef.  The steaks had been grilled to perfection.
“You certainly ate enough to know!”  I teased.  Nick had packed away two steaks, a potato and two bowls of salad.  And he still wanted pie, of course.
“Kevin doesn’t let me eat.”  Nick grinned.  “I’m too chubby.”  He patted his belly for emphasis.
“You know what?”  I quizzed him.  Nick raised his eyebrow in response.  “Sometimes Kevin has no idea what he’s talking about.”
“What does that mean?”  Nick challenged.  Obviously taking a pot shot at one of his band mates was not a wise decision.
“It means Kevin has no idea how good you look.”  I picked up his used plate and tried not to face him.  I knew I had to be blushing furiously.  “You are far from chubby.  You’re not supposed to be a skinny man.”
“You think I look good?”  Nick picked up a few dishes as well and followed me into the house.
“Nick, you have no idea.”   I sighed.  He really had no idea how beautiful he was.
“No really, I want to know.”  Nick set the dishes down and turned me around by my shoulders.  “How do you think I look?”
“I think you are the most gorgeous man I have ever seen in my life.”
Nick dropped his arms from my shoulders.  “You’re just saying that.”
“I would never say something like that to someone and not mean it.”  I meant that, truly.
“Thank you.”  Nick held my chin in his hand and kissed my lips, holding me for what seemed like hours and then pulling away.  The look he was giving me made me melt.  “No one has ever said that to me.”
“I have a hard time believing that.”  I smiled at him.
“Well, no one of any consequence, no one that ultimately meant anything by it.  When they said it, it was because it sounded good at the time and got them what they wanted.  How does that sound?”
I wanted to cry.  Did he mean I was ‘someone of consequence ‘ and what I told him really meant something or was he just saying that he would never believe he was attractive?  “I mean it, totally.  I would never lie to you.”
“Sounds like a song!”  Nick cracked and completely shattered the moment.  “I’m sorry!”  he grinned.  “I couldn’t resist!”
~~~~~

Nick had helped wash the dishes and clean up the grill after supper.  We relaxed on the couch with pieces of Key Lime pie and laughter while watching reruns of the Simpson’s on TV.  Nick rested his head on my shoulder a couple of times, which made me melt.  He made me promise to let him take some pie with him, he was sure he could make some use of it.  I’m sure he could too. Caitie would never even see any of it.
As much as I hated to admit it, the day was ending far too quickly.  We needed to return the bikes to the shop and retrieve Nick’s rental car from the lot where we had left it this morning after our shopping trip.

Then I had to send him off to Catie.  The thought made me want to cry again.  I didn’t want him to leave.  We had clicked, at least it seemed to me, better than I ever thought we would.

Nick must have been reading my mind because he glanced at his watch and gave me a sad look, complete with a pout.

“It’s almost time to go, isn’t it?”

“Yeah.”  I replied sadly.

“We’ve still got some time, don’t get all mopey on me yet.”  Nick leaned over and tickled my neck.  “I can’t handle sad chicks.”

“I’m not sad!”  I replied, defensively.

“Not much.”  Nick laughed and tickled me again.  “Quit looking at your watch and let’s enjoy the time we have left.”

We had barely started on our way to return the bikes to the shop, when it began to pour down rain.  I pulled up beside Nick and asked if he wanted to stop and see if it would subside or if he wanted to keep going.

“Let’s go on.  It’s only rain.”  Nick grinned.  “My grandma used to say I wasn’t made out of sugar, so the rain wouldn’t hurt me!”  We both laughed and pedaled on our way.

I tried to stop the flow of thoughts running through my head as we rode.  I couldn’t help glancing over at Nick and admiring his arms, the tattoos standing out through his wet t-shirt, or the muscles on his back moving as he pedaled.  I had so wanted to be with Nick today and he certainly had shown affection to me, but I wasn’t about to jump him without warning.  I wanted him to respect me and hopefully consider me a friend.

Attacking him probably wasn’t the best way to go about that.  There had never really been a good time to even bring up the subject either.  I stole another look towards Nick.  The rain, even heavier now, had plastered his hair to his head, but Nick had raked his hands through it and the locks were now spiked up at odd angles.  The droplets ran down his face, tracing paths over his cheekbones, and then running down his neck.  Some raindrops had pooled on his full lips and as Nick was about to say something to me, they ran down his lower lip to his chin like a small waterfall.

That was it.  There was no way I was wasting this opportunity.

“Nick!  Pull over!”  I gestured to the side of the path.

“What’s wrong?”  He asked, as he slowed to ride beside me.

Nothing.  Absolutely nothing.  Except that the sight of you soaking wet is just about killing me and if I don’t do something about it I think I may die.

I just shook my head and gestured again.  Nick shrugged, but pulled his bike over to the brush at the side of the path and dismounted.

“Are you alright?”  He asked with concern.  I jumped off the bike and dropped it to the ground.  I put my hands on his shoulders and pushed him into the shrubs lining the path.  Nick backed up willing, but he still looked confused.  I pulled him to the ground with me and covered his mouth with mine.  I ran my fingers through his wet hair and held him tightly, never wanting this to end.

“I wondered when you were going to do this.”  Nick whispered before diving back into the kiss.

“You expected this?”  I asked, some what annoyed.

“No…not at first.  Then I thought I might have to make a move.”  Nick paused as he kissed me again.  “Then I thought it wouldn’t be right.  Then watching you in the rain…”  He stopped and ran his tongue over my cheek to my ear.  “If you hadn’t pulled me in here, I would have been pulling you here!”

“Thank god for the rain.”  I murmured as I ran my hands up his chest, removing his shirt at the same time.

“No shit.”  Nick mumbled, his lips now brushing over my neck.

We struggled with our damp clothes but finally got the offending items out of our way.  Nick laid me back in the wet grass and covered my body with his.  I could tell this wouldn’t be a long encounter but with any luck it wouldn’t be the last.

His mouth explored every inch of me as he sunk his fingers deep inside me.  I gasped out and arched up, wanting him inside me now.  Nick teased me for a few minutes, pumping his fingers in and out, bringing me almost to the brink, when he rolled off and pawed for his jeans.

“I can’t wait anymore.”  he breathed heavily, as he handed me the condom he had retrieved from his wallet.  “Please.”

It was Nick’s turn to lay down now.  Before I placed the condom on him I bent down and took him full in my mouth, licking along his full length.  Nick shuddered slightly and clutched at the grass beneath him.  I slowly rolled the condom over his impressive erection.
I made sure to stop a few times and offer a few squeezes, drawing groans from him each time.  Nick shuddered again and pushed me off him gently, back down to the wet grass.

“None of that, unless you don’t want this.”  He positioned himself at my opening and pushed slightly.  “Do you want this?”

Oh God, yes.  In reply I tangled my arms around his neck and pulled him down to me.  Nick plunged into me, filling me completely.  I couldn’t help but cry out and thrust up to meet him.  Our limbs entwined as we moved together, cheesy as it sounds, as one.  Neither of us said anything but the occasional grunt or moan.

The rain had made our bodies slick and we slid and splashed in the mud collecting beneath us.  These sensations and our movements within and around each other were enough to keep us going, no talk necessary.

Our fingers explored our bodies, along with our mouths and tongues.  I opened my eyes to look at Nick for a moment, wanting to remember him this way as well. He was balanced over me, preparing to thrust in once more.  His eyes were shut tightly and his mouth was pulled into a tight smile.  The rain ran down his face and his hair hung down over his eyes in wet hunks.  God.  I moaned loudly as we joined once more and my impending orgasm hit more forcefully than I had anticipated.  Nick was still moving within me, his movements getting more frantic as each second ticked by.  I let my body relax slightly and watched him work toward his release. The muscles in his back were jumping and the veins in his arms were almost popping through his skin.  I took one more look at his face, twisted in ecstasy and dripping with rain and sweat.  That was my downfall.  I wrapped my legs around him once more and urged him on.  “Fuck me, Nick.”  I whispered in his ear.  He responded by pounding into me relentlessly.  Holy hell.  I was near coming again when Nick started jerking into me in short spasms.  He was close too.  I felt myself tighten around him as my orgasm hit once more.

“Fuck.”  He moaned, and wrapped his arms around me, holding me so close I thought we were going to mesh into each other.  His body jerked and shuddered violently and then his movements slowed as he relaxed, his body spent from his climax.
After lying in each other’s arms for a time, the rain still pouring down on us, feeling returned to our boneless limbs and somehow we were able to redress and make ourselves look semi presentable.  Nick lifted the hem of his t-shirt and wiped some dirt from my face before pressing his lips to mine.

“You look good like that, all wet and all.”  he whispered.

“You don’t look so bad yourself.”

“Am I as muddy as you are?”  Nick grinned and brushed another bit of dirt from my forehead.

“Not quite!”  I laughed, reaching out and plucking a twig out of his hair.

“That was amazing.”  Nick drew me into his arms and kissed me again.

“You have no idea.”  I replied softly.

Bikes returned, rental car retrieved, Nick’s pie cut and stored in a plastic container.  It was time for him to go.  The day had gone so fast.  It almost didn’t seem fair.  But I had experienced more with him than most people ever had a chance at. I couldn’t be jealous.

“This was really fun.  I had such a great day.”  Nick said, as he packed his purchases in the trunk of the car.

“I did too Nick.  I really can’t express how wonderful this day was for me.”  I smiled at him.

“It was supposed to be all about you.  Making you feel good.”

Nick grasped my shoulders and turned me face him.  “You made me feel fantastic.  You treated me like a normal human being. I couldn’t have asked for more.”

“I feel like I took advantage of you.”

“Why?”

“The bike path?”  I reminded him.

“I told you I would have pushed you in there if you hadn’t got to me first.  Besides…who’s idea was the shower?”  He wiggled his eyebrows at me.

Ah yes, the shower beat all hell out of fucking in the bushes.  And it was totally Nick’s idea.  Course he didn’t know at the time how small my shower is, but he made it work.  Smart man.  Flexible too.

“Okay, truce.”  I pledged and held my hand out.  Nick pulled me to him and held me tightly.

“I want to come back, after, if you’ll have me.  I don’t know when.”

I touched his cheek softly.  “You’re welcome here anytime.  Just come when you can.”
Nick rained kisses on me.  “I promise.  I just wish I could say when.  After this week, it’s back to the tour and all the shit surrounding it.”

“Don’t think about that.  You’ll have a great rest of the week.  I know that for a fact.  You’ll go back to work totally relaxed and energized.”

Nick sighed and hugged me one last time before moving closer to the car.  “I hate goodbyes.”

“Don’t say it then.”  I tried not to cry.

“I will be back.”  He promised.  “I mean that.”

Nick opened the door and settled himself behind the wheel.  “Bye love.  Take care of yourself!”  Nick backed out of the drive slowly and waved until I couldn’t see him anymore.  I wiped a tear away and silently wished him well.

“I know.”  I whispered.
