SUMMERY:
This anime follows the main character Rakka as she wakens to find her life has completely changed. She has been 'reborn' into a Haibane Renmei, an angel-like being complete with feathered wings and a halo. When they are born they remember nothing of their past lives and all live together in a place they call Old Home. Throught the series we follow Rakka as she tires to learn what the Haibane really are. We also follow the secondary main character, Reki, who is the older Haibane that befriends Rakka. Overall it's a story about growth, love and the price one pays for the sins we commit.
MY OPINION:
This is by far one of the most orginal anime's that I have ever seen. Althouhg not for everyone (especially those partial to action stories and the like), both the characters and the story are orginal as well as easy to understand. I especially love Reki, the secondary main character, whose inner struggle to find salvation is endearing without coming off as wishy-washy or fake.
