Summary- Kate goes to see Angel after he bites her… fluffiness ensues
Notes- Don't like Kate? B/A shipper? Go back now. The lyrics to the song are O-Town 'All or Nothing.' Just what was on MTV when I was writing this… This is dedicated to Danni who is probably a bigger A/K shipper than I am and Ellie for being a wicked friend and liking O-Town…
Kate felt not surprisingly weak as she entered the dusky and desolate Hyperion hotel. So many questions flashed through her mind… well one actually… Why had Angel saved her tonight? After the way she'd treated him over the past three months… The sheer memories brought tears to her eyes… ~ I know when he's been on your mind, that distant look is in your eyes, I thought with time you'd realise it's over ~
Deciding none of Angel's associates where in the hotel Kate decided to climb the stairs… maybe even to find Angel's bedroom. ~ It's not the way I choose to live, And something somewhere has got to give, as sharing this relationship gets older. ~ Would it feel strange being in Angel's bedroom with him? Alone? Or would he have someone else in his room with him? Darla, maybe. She knew she'd never compare to Darla in Angel's mind. She'd seen the look of pure love flash across his eyes when he'd thought she was his sire only earlier that night. It felt like an eternity to her. ~ You know I'm right for you, but how can I fight someone who isn't even there? I've had the rest of you now I want the best of you I don't care if that's not fair ~
Kate crept along the corridor along to the door at the end. Was this Angel's room? The door was slightly ajar and there was only one way to find out ~ Cause I want it all or nothing at all. There's nowhere left to fall when you reach the bottom, it's now or never. ~
"Angel?" she said to the darkness. The soulled vampire turned around in his chair, his face covered by the shadows.
"Kate?" ~ Is it all? Or are we just friends? Is this how it ends with a simple telephone call? You leave me here, with nothing at all. ~
Angel stood up and they just stared at each other for a moment in the half-light. ~ There are times it seems to me, I'm sharing you with memories. I feel it in my heart but I don't show it. ~
"Are you OK?" he asked her touching the bite mark at her neck. She flinched at his touch and drew back slightly.
"Yeah I'm OK," ~ And then there's times you look at me, as if I'm all that you can see. Those times I don't believe it's right I know it. ~ "A little weak."
"Of course," there was a pause for a moment. Kate I'm so sorry I couldn't see another way to stop them from killing you." ~ Don't make me promises, baby you never knew how to keep them well. ~
"No Angel, you… God, you saved my life. This… this scar on my neck… it's the touch of an Angel,"
Wordlessly Angel reached out to touch the bite mark… ever so gently. He felt Kate take a sharp intake of breath.
"I'm sorry," he told her. ~ I've had the rest of you, now I want the best of you, it's time to show and tell. ~
"No… no it's OK," she told him, taking his hand and putting it back to her neck, "I know you won't hurt Me." ~ Cause I want it all, or nothing at all. There's no where left to fall when you reach the bottom, it's now or never. ~ She leaned her head in towards his hand goosebumps erupting all over her entire body. ~ Is it all? Or are we just friends? Is this how it ends, with a simple telephone call? You leave me here with nothing at all. ~ She gently kissed his palm. He took his hand away and gently traced his fingers under her jaw, cupping her face in his hand and drawing her chin upward towards his face. ~ Cause you and I could loose it all if you've got no more room. No look inside for me in your life. ~
"Oh, God Kate," he whispered, "I almost killed you tonight, I almost lost you." ~ Cause I want it all, or nothing at all. There's no where left to fall. It's now or never. ~
"Angel," Kate said, tears springing to her eyes, "*You* thought you'd lost *me. * I thought… I thought…"
"Shhh…" he said, "It doesn't matter. Nothing matters anymore." ~ Is it all, or nothing at all. There's nowhere left to fall, when you reach the bottom, it's now or never. ~
"Nothing matters?" she asks him, "How can you even say that?" she looked him straight in the eyes, "*You* matter." ~ Is it all or are we just friends? Is this how it ends, with a simple telephone call, you leave me here, with nothing at all. ~
Ever so gently, so slowly she brought his lips to hers, catching them with a tender kiss which grew with a hunger burning inside both of them for months." ~ With nothing at all. There's nowhere left to run. When you reach the bottom it's now or never. ~
Angel broke the kiss and looked into her eyes, "Kate?" he asked.
"What?" she asked him.
"Do you hate me?"
"How can you even ask that? Angel. I love you." She looked away shyly. "It's OK you don’t have to say it,"
"Kate? How could I not say it?" He met her eyes again, "I love you."
With nothing left to lose the pair kissed until the first fingers of dawn broke over LA, exchanging illicit I love you's and managing to find their way to his bed when the curtains had been closed and there was nothing more to say… ~ Is it all? Or are we just friends? Is this how it ends, with a simple telephone call, you leave me here, with nothing at all. ~
