School had let out two days previously. It felt strange to Willow walking through the corridors of Sunnydale high without there being a barrage of students blocking the halls, laughing, shouting hello to each other or walking slowly to lessons. She was also nervous. She had to tell Giles this secret, a secret she’d been keeping for ten months now. She didn’t know how he’d react. She hadn’t told anyone. Not even Buffy or Xander, resolving Giles should be the first to know. She reached the library door. And breathed deeply. She shouldered the door opened and wasn’t surprised to see Giles sat at the table surrounded by piles of thick volumes filled with ancient Aramaic texts. He looked up at her and smiled, somewhat weakly.

"Willow, hello," he said surprised to see her in the library three days before Christmas.

"Hi," she told Giles, "Mind if I hang here for a while?"

"Uh, no" he said pulling out a chair "I don’t mind, if you… uh ‘hang,’"

"Thanks," she said sitting in the chair, pausing for a while as Giles began to read again, then taking a deep breath, "Giles, there’s something I have to tell you," he looked up and removed his glasses.

"Yes," he said,

"This isn’t easy for me and I hope you’re gonna forgive me for keeping this from you for so long," Willow began, "It’s… It’s about uh, Jenny actually,"

"Jenny?" he asked his voice filled with memory and longing,

"She’s alive," Willow blurted out quickly. Giles eyes widened and then closed in shock, "I didn’t believe it was her at first either. When she first e-mailed me I thought it was someone playing a sick joke. Her people kidnapped her and took her back to Romania. But when she got stronger, her and her sister, Nikki escaped and moved to Colorado, Aspen actually. It looks nice from the photos she sent me…"

"Photos?" Giles asked.

"She sends me stuff sometimes. Letters… lots of e-mails. She didn’t want me to tell anyone because she thought you were still angry at her for lying to you. You’re not are you?" Willow didn’t know if Giles didn’t want to answer or whether he’d lost all ability to speak. "So I got a last minute deal on plane tickets," Willow told him throwing down two pink tickets on the table, "One of them’s taken. It’s just I don’t fly well. Happy Christmas Giles," she told him. He rubbed his eyes. "You don’t have to come," she told him, "I mean I just thought I’d give you the option," Giles stood up instinctively.

"When does the flight leave?" he asked Willow.

"We have two hours to be at the airport," she told him.

"Ok," he said not even bothering to get his car keys, "Let’s go…"

The plane touched down in Aspen at 8:00 p.m. By 8:30 the watcher and the witch had gone through passport control luggage pick up and customs. She stood there at the luggage pick up point. Perfect as ever. Giles dropped his luggage and ran towards her. He took her in his arms and kissed her. Not saying anything not needing to. Tears rolled down everyone’s cheeks. The talking, the questions could wait. For now all that mattered was that the watcher was back with his technopagan, love had conquered all, it was snowing outside and it truly was the perfect Christmas…

THE END

Sorry this is so short. I suddenly felt inspired and had an idea but no idea how to develop it.
