Knocking
by

I wanted to laugh with you
To share with you
To joke and trade stories with you-
I wanted to crawl inside
The heat of your skin and passions
To learn the beat of your Essence against spirit.

And here I sit
In stone cold silence
Wondering;

Shall I ever sprawl
By the warm evening fire
Of your smile and your gentle touch
Upon my serious face?

Resigned-

I am fated,
I think,
To look through the window
Of other people's lives
And crave the nearness and warmth
That is being a part of
(Instead of apart from)
All that I treasure and trust.

All that I hold near and nestled neatly
To the glass-covered bright shield of a window
Over my blood-hot heart.

I am exasperated
With all these silk-thin words
That expose everything
And tell nothing
Of the need of my soul
To be near a like being
Who might open the door to feeling
And not leave me knocking
(On the cold diamond panes )
Leaving me on the outside-
Rapping with stinging knuckles
On the window into Loving...

Let me in,
Let Me in
Let me In...

Vision Wolf, giving all and giving in, again
