| Rabbit Dog by © cromokee I'm so glad there are other Dog lovers here.. I used to hunt Rabbits with a Dog.. The best Rabbit Dog I ever had was a Three-legged One. He lost one of his front legs in the Viet Nam War...He and a big Raccoon got into a fight over the contents of a garbage can...The 'Coon got him into a "Figure Four Leg Lock" and broke his Front leg so bad they had to amputate it.... Well. when he got his Army Discharge, He came to live with me...So, I whittled him out a front leg from a piece of Ash that I had been drying to make an Axe handle. Well....He turned out to be the Best Rabbit Dog I ever had! He would find a Brush Pile and jump up and down on it and when the Rabbits ran out he would Club 'em to Death! I got more Rabbits that year than any other in my Life....I sure do miss him... He got into a Big Fight with a Rabbit that also had a Wooden Leg and they Beat each other to Death... Such a Shame... You all being such kind Folks, .I know you understand my Pain. Cro |
