Mirror Worlds by © chibilunacat Demons dancing Round and round The bed is spinning still Evil laughter Deals out death In aces and in spades A lonely lighted pumpkin Grins in gaping mouth Gutted for a pie Rising remains Of people once alive Shuffling through the mist Running, screaming What to do Dropping bags of candy Splattered blood Dripping down Wounds that never heal Headless men on horseback And screaming women ghosts Coming down the road The hearts are pounding Hard and fast And breaths are caught in gasps Severed limbs living In their own dead way Ripped from putrid bodies A child huddles Under covers Holding a whirling head Her thoughts have turned From dreams to screams As she reaches for the ghost Eerie light of glowing green Leaving a plasm trail The echoed voice trembles The fingertips of living Touch the finger tips of dead The mirrored worlds collide. Dancing ballerinas Round and round The bed is spinning still Gay laughter Deals in birth In aces and in spades A candle lighted cake Wishes whisper across Baked with love Busy parents paying For gifts in shopping malls Bustling down the halls Running, laughing What to do, Gathering bags of candy Splattered blood, Dripping down Bandaids put in place Business men in cars And women in fine clothes Going off to work The hearts are pounding Hard and fast In all the childs excitement Stretching limbs and fingers High above their heads Reaching for the sky A child huddles Under covers Holding her whirling head The fingertips of living Touch the fingertips of dead, The mirror worlds colliding Every halloween.
