Mia: Devotion

Chapter 14

* His narrowed black eyes looked around cautiously. He may have been in the simulator, but that didn't mean he couldn't be hurt. He'd felt great pains in here, because he had been careless with his hiding techniques. He had scars laced down his chest and back, all from careless mistakes and the occasional beating. He twitched his wide ears slightly, listening for any sounds. The creatures he sparred against had no Ki, and he couldn't detect them.

He moved in a split second, whirling gracefully in the air as his opponent attacked with blinding fury. He teleported, winking away from the attacker and appeared inches behind it. One fist glowed with Ki, and he punched through his opponent. It flickered, and dissipated. He stood up and shook out his short mane of black hair, the base slick with sweat. He'd been in here for hours on end, being tested by his Master.

He could see his Master's sparkling eyes in the distance. They had a viewing portal installed so that his Master could monitor his progress. The two cat-like eyes blinked quickly, then lowered and nodded. The Boy tilted his head warily- they were sending in another creature for him to battle.

There was a scream from the corner of the simulator room. The dim lights flashed off metallic hair, and Ty'anu was caught by surprise as a Talisian female barrelled into him, a war cry on her lips. He rolled backwards and balled his feet under the female's stomach, and kicked her off of himself. The female went flying into the wall, and Ty'anu righted himself and faced his opponent. He flew at her, and she had no time to react. She was hit with a flurry of punches to the stomach, then sent flying upwards with a well-placed uppercut. She had barely cracked open her eye when she was hit in the small of her back and sent down to the floor. When she hit the bottom vibrated with her impact but did not give. The simulator had been too well built.

She turned, her silky silver hair cascading down and over her shoulders. Yellow light engulfed her as a pulsating Ki blast rained down on her fallen form. She screamed in pain.

An alarm went off and Ty'anu settled down on the floor. The jungle setting that was being projected slowly faded to slightly padded cream-coloured walls. He could see the female he'd been beating. She wasn't dead, but certainly beaten. And since Warriors were of short supply, she wasn't going to die anytime soon.

A door slid open and his Master walked in, his short hair bouncing. Two others followed him and went to his sparring partner's side.

"Very well done. We are almost ready to depart on our Mission," his Master said in a calm voice. "Have you reached your Ultimate Form yet in your sparring matches with Yu'tai?"

Ty'anu shook his head, his black spikes waving slightly. "Not yet. I'm starting to doubt that I'll make it."

"Do not doubt yourself. Can you at least make Super Saiyan?"

Ty'anu laughed. "That's easy. Piece of cake." He put his hands on his hips and looked at his Master out of the corner of the eye. "You already know that I could go Super Saiyan since the day I was born. I've already reached Super Saiyan level Two...why are you asking?"

Ix'bet almost glared at the young, abash young man. "Simple: your Ultimate Form comes after level two. No matter, I'm sure you'll reach your proper level once we get to our destination." The rebel Talisian shook his head sadly. "Go wash up, Ume. And-"

"Don't call me that." Ty'anu shot back before Ix'bet could finish.

"It is your name. Ty'anu is just the nickname everyone gave you to make you feel more like a Talisian. Face it Ume, you are not fully Talisian. You have our genes that allows us to advance quickly and the power to advance to Talisaiyan. But you are more Saiyan than Talisian, thus I will call you by your Saiyan name, Ume. Now wash up and get ready to leave. We have two days."

Ix'bet and Ume left their appropriate ways. Ix'bet growled under his breath. 'That child has so much power, but that annoying attitude of his Mother's. Sad to say, I'm glad she's dead. Less strain on him when we go to Earth.' Ix'bet turned down the corridor. 'Earth...how I dread going there.' Ix'bet had done everything he could do to cancel the Mission, but the Talisian Council had insisted on Revenge. And the fact that they had Ume, the best fighter they'd ever had and engineered, just boosted their confidence. They also argued that Ume knew Instant Distance Teleportation and he could teleport home if he was close to death.

Ix'bet quietly had argued that if Ume were too weak from battle, he wouldn't be able to teleport. The Council had ignored him, and gone ahead with the Mission plan, assigning him, Yu'tai and Ume to go to Earth and kill the Saiyans. Ix'bet was positive that the Council had just signed his death warrant, and Yu'tai's.

Ix'bet entered his quarters and settled down to think.

Ume stormed down his hall. The words 'Not fully Talisian' kept echoing through his head. He turned a corner, and then smashed in a control panel in anger. He froze in that pose for a couple of seconds, his fist deep into the wires and internal systems of the base, then slowly retracted his hand.

He entered his room, and flopped onto his bed. His eyes caught the mirror on the table, and he looked at himself. Piercing black eyes stared back, with three spikes of soft hair neatly came from his brow. He had a slight eagle's peak, and thin black eyebrows. His body was well muscled, and he was sprouting into a tall young man. He looked fifteen. But he knew he'd only been alive for three years. Ix'bet had told him that his growth had been accelerated...he knew his birth story. Only Ix'bet, his Master, had been brave enough to tell him the story. Everyone else thought he would go into a rage and kill them all.

They were right; he had gone into a rage. Ix'bet had been stronger than him then and stopped him.

Ume looked at the mirror, then calmly blew it up with a small Ki blast.

Hakuto got up quietly and left her House-mates to their slumbers. They were lucky- on this level of Hell were some old ruins. They'd crawled deep inside the ruins, hiding away from the rivalling Houses to get some peace for a little while. Hakuto crawled away from them, going up to the surface.

The House of Savage Battle was a unique house, because it didn't just contain one species. Savage Battle had four different species all working together to try and stay at one plateau of Hell. There were two Saiyans, Hakuto and Sakura, two Talisians, Ha'nai and My'ara, three Arcadians, Muushi, Taaela, and Naashu and one dragon-like creature named Sheen.

Hakuto pulled herself out of the rubble. She squinted in the red light, and brushed back her bangs. There was rubble everywhere, blood sprayed on old crumbled buildings, and screams of death rang out every couple of minutes. And every now and then there was a quiet popping sound, which was the signal that someone new had appeared in this level of Hell.

Hakuto sat quietly, letting the reeking wind dance by her head. Everything reeked of blood and death. This was a perpetual battleground, and even Hakuto's moment of peace wouldn't last long, and she knew that. There was too much action here. Not that Hakuto disliked the action, but she could use some quiet time every now and then.

There was a hissing, then a pop behind her. It didn't even take a second for Hakuto to spin around and power up, facing the appearing person or creature. Her eyes narrowed as she increased her power level just in case whoever this materializing person could possibly be from a Rival House.

Spiky black hair appeared. Two familiar hollow black eyes followed, and scars embedded on the skin gleamed painfully as a flash of light ended the transportation. Hakuto's gritted teeth and attack stance melted away as she watched the newly transported person flexed his scarred arms and brushed back his hair. Fear replaced the confidence in Hakuto's eyes.

For standing before her was her Father.
