Mia: Devotion

Chapter 11

* "Where the hell is it then?"

"It will come when it comes."

Mia rolled her eyes at the answer as Enma-Diao flipped through his little book, judging her. She paced impatiently. She couldn't believe it was happening so fast. One moment she'd been on her knees, her hand above her chest, smiling at Ix'bet, then she was here. All around her were little spirits, waiting their turn to be judged after her. Golden orange clouds rolled slowly by outside Enma-Diao's office.

"You done yet?" she complained.

"No. Have patience." He made a humming noise. "You've certainly lived an...enriched life," he commented.

"What do you mean by that?" She snapped, whirling to face the red-skinned giant, her eyes narrowed.

"You start off as a nice kid. Then you learn about your past and you turn evil. But that's a fake, and soon you ally with the rest of the Z Warriors to beat the Talisians. You were still guaranteed a place in Heaven. But now..." He made a 'tsking' noise and whistled. "Killing all those innocents? This is a toss-up."

"They weren't innocents! They-"

"Silence! If you wanted revenge, you should have only killed the scientists that tampered with your parents or whatever. There was no need to kill every Talisian you saw." Enma-Diao raised an eyebrow at the scowling Saiyan.

"They deserved it," she muttered to herself under her breath. "Where is it?! It should have come right after me!" Mia shouted in frustration. She crossed her arms in pure anger. 'The child should have followed me. It can't live if I'm dead,' she thought, looking at the line of spirits waiting behind her. 'Is it out there waiting?' she wondered silently to herself, then faced the crimson-skinned giant again.

"It will come, when it comes!" Enma-Diao repeated with anger in his voice. The only response he got from the moody Saiyan standing below him was a sneer, and a dirty look. He was becoming less and less pleased with this Saiyan, and he frowned. He began to read his book again.

He heard an exasperated sigh from the female. "You've already looked in there! Why do you need to look in it again? It's pointless!" she said in an angry tone, which made the great giant scowl. He was not pleased with this creatures behavior at all.

'But I suppose it's understandable after what she went through,' he considered for a second while the little female paced on the floor below him. 'But it's not a valid excuse.' He closed the little book and set it down on his desk, then turned his head to one of the men standing to his left, and gave one nod.

The blue-skinned servant with a single horn coming from his curly black hair nodded. "Come with me, Mia," he said politely, motioning for her to come with him.

The female Saiyan crossed her arms, shot Enma-Diao another nasty look, and started toward the servant with a sullen look on her face. She fell into step behind the dainty blue man, as she glanced around her.

"Where in bloody hell are we going?" She asked.

The servant's mouth twitched into a grin. "Bloody hell," he replied.

Sekkai twirled the little vial between her fingers, her head resting in the palm of her hand. 'It really was too easy,' she thought to herself. And it had only taken an hour to do. She'd done the task yesterday, only hours before her Grandson had come into her room looking for comfort.

All she did was fly up to Kami's Lookout. With nobody there to defend the young Kami, Sekkai had easily forced him to do her bidding. It was either that or die, and Dende decided that Sekkai's offer was better than death. She'd knocked Mr. Popo unconscious and left him on the cool tiling to sleep. It was easy to force Dende to take her to Hell.

She'd had three choices to get the same thing: Attack Vegeta, which she decided was a stupid move. He'd beat her into a pulp if she even tried to aquire from him what she needed. Challenge Serori for rights over Tomma, which was another stupid move. Serori would not only probably beat her, but Tomma would refuse. And the only other option was going to Hell to find a willing Saiyan male. Human males just would not suffice. Besides, she needed to keep the species clear of 'contamination'.

And so she'd found one. Saiyans were scattered on all different levels of Hell. She'd been lucky too, meeting up with some of her teammates from years ago. After explaining her story, each male agreed to her terms. Even the females she encountered contributed.

And so, in each vial that was sitting peacefully in the holder, was a Saiyan genetic sample. Some were female, which Sekkai found quite helpful. It would be too much work if she had to use her own samples with each experiment. Not to mention it would make a very limited gene pool. They needed diversity if they were going to thrive.

She grinned evilly. She couldn't wait to get started on rebuilding her dead race.

'Dead. Like Hakuto.' Sekkai's grin dissolved into a grim frown. She wondered if the little Kami had been able to make it to help the judgment of her daughter. There had only been a couple hours between her returning to Earth, and the death. Perhaps...

Sekkai shook her mind off it. She didn't want to think of the fact that he daughter was gone. And her son-in-law was in the hospital in critical condition. She hadn't been to the hospital yet. Vegeta and Bulma had gone, but only Vegeta had returned. And he had not looked happy. But then again, it was to be expected. 'At least he still has a son,' Sekkai thought and snorted. She placed the vial back in its holder and got up.

She wandered back out the various hallways. Her lab was secret, an old place that had been forgotten. She was glad. She didn't know how Vegeta would react if he found something like this. He'd either support her, or blow her and her creation to Hell.

She crept out and into the sunlight. She pulled the ponytail-holder out of her hair, and shook her great mane out. She blinked in the sun, then she levitated to her balcony, where she let herself in. Sekkai growled, pulled off her shirt and sorted through what human clothes she had. She found something blue and pulled it over her head, then swept her arms backwards to untuck her hair, which was caught under the shirt.

She checked herself in the mirror. 'Damn humans and their stupid dress codes,' she thought to herself. After making sure she was presentable, she easily leapt off her balcony and landed softly on the ground below. She was somewhat glad the apartments weren't close to the actual working part of Capsule Corp, or she'd have screaming idiots around her.

She walked quietly to where her car was stored. She drove an open-top capsule car, and it suited the aging Saiyan just fine. Sekkai picked up the capsule, and pressed the top, then threw it. With a poof, her car sat in front of her, shiny with no traces of scratches. Sekkai smiled to herself as she slid into the leather seat, and started the ignition. The car came to life, and Sekkai's grin grew as she floored it.

'Who needs a license, anyway?' she thought to herself.

He executed a flawless barrel roll, dodging the Ki blast aimed at him. His lips were pulled into a goofy grin, trademarked to his Father. He met his attacker with ease, flipping to swing a power-loaded kick to her face, then teleporting quickly to punch her in the stomach before she had time to hit the ground. Her silver hair floated in the air, not being able to settle because of all the changes in direction that the girl was forced into taking. Finally Goten let her fall, blood seeping from her nose and eyes. The young Talisian was in too much pain to cry out, and all she could do was drag in raspy breaths.

Goten teleported away. He didn't want to look at her. He soared around the debris of what was once the great Talisian capital. In the distance, two Oozarus played gleefully, knocking down buildings and causing mass destruction. The moon shone on his back, making the muscles that he had stand out more than they already did.

He saw Gohan's hand flash with energy. The ground below him exploded, and he could see Talisians go flying. Goten aimed, and fired his own Ki blast, the light from his hands illuminating his face, which was drawn into a savage grin. He yelled in rage as he pushed more energy into the attack, incinerating any living soul that was on the ground.

Gohan backed away. Ever since him and Tomma had returned from Earth something had been wrong with Goten. Serori had done something to him, Gohan was sure. He knew because Goten stayed away from her, as far away as he could. And Gohan supposed that Goten was venting whatever rage he had.

The wind ruffled his short hair. The air stank of death. How many days had it been since they'd come back here from Earth? Gohan couldn't remember. Too many, he decided. It was almost over. 'The damned war is almost over,' he thought as he got nearer to Serori and Tomma. The two older Saiyans lived for this. Gohan didn't, he was more disgusted at this needless slaughter than he thought someone could be. But he wasn't fool enough to turn on them, because then he'd be risking his own hide. 'Cowardice,' he thought to himself. Something wrapped around his midsection, pinning his arms. He yelled in surprise as he flexed his arms, trying to break the electric blue rope surrounding him. He froze in the air, thrashing around, trying to break free. He stopped a moment and looked down.

A young Talisian female stood there, her hair singed and her face burnt. In her hands was a device, and the blue rope, or whatever it happened to be, was emanating from it. Gohan was about to send a Ki shock down the rope to make her let go when a charge of electricity ran through him. His voice was caught in his throat as the shock racked his body. It left him as suddenly as it came, and Gohan slumped in the air. It hurt him to breathe.

The moment he moved his head to take a better look at the Talisian girl, Yu'tai pressed a button and sent her Ki into her device. Electricity rocketed up the wire, and connected with the Saiyan's body. She winced as some of her own power fed back down to her. The little converting device wasn't as reliable as she thought it would be. 'No matter,' she thought briefly. She glanced around, making sure that other Saiyan wasn't around. She didn't want to have to deal with two of them.

She stopped, and swayed. It was taking a lot out of her to make this one suffer. She winced again, and noticed a large shadow fall on her suddenly.

Yu'tai turned, and gasped with fear. Behind her was the smiling face of an Oozaru. The creature had teleported from where it was to her location. Its teeth gleamed in the dim light, and Yu'tai dragged in a frightened breath. She didn't have to time to blink before Serori backhanded her out of the way, and the converting device went flying from her grasps.

Serori's ruby eyes found the device on the ground, and she promptly squished it. It flickered around Gohan's slumped but somehow still airborne body. Apparantly, the adult was fighting to keep himself from falling, which was probably the Talisian's goal. Serori snatched Gohan from the air, cradling him in her large paws. She dumped him roughly on some tower debris. "Rest," she snarled in her deep tenor voice, and narrowed her eyes at the recovering half-breed. 'Runt,' she thought. 'Weakling. Can't even take a stupid electrical attack.'

She whirled around, her thick fur swaying in the wind her massive head created, searching for the Talisian's crash location. But, in her mild concern to help the little runt, she lost her prime target. She was really starting to hate both of Kakorot's brats. Gohan was a wuss, plain and simple, and Goten couldn't see past his own dick.

Serori furrowed her massive brows as her ruby eyes shone brightly. She wasn't going to waste this night standing around, this was her joy, her life, her dream. The Talisians had finally fallen to her mercy. To the Saiyans' mercy. As it should have been long ago.

Yu'tai heaved a sigh of relief as she watched the Oozaru lumber away from her. She was breathing hard; the impact she'd endured had broken ribs, her arm, bruised her up good and she probably had internal bleeding. She coughed blood up, and wiped her mouth, leaving a bloody streak on her already-stained gloves. Now, the game was to stay alive, until she could access the escape pods hidden under the city.

If they hadn't been taken or destroyed yet.

Yu'tai wiped away a dirty tear.

'Why us?'
