Animation With Frames
Written by Kl0se2Insanity using PSP7

Jannie, I have a ? about the tut!

Step 1 - In PSP (not animation shop) - open up a 350 x 65 transparent image.
Now hit SHIFT D five more times to get a total of six 350 x 65 transparent images!
Doesn't matter which one you start with, use the first one that's in the forefront!

Step 2 - Using your dropper , choose a color to start with from your color pallette.
I'm going to start with the color BLUE!
Be sure to choose your color for both the foreground & background color!

After choosing your color to begin with, choose your text tool
Now click on your transparent image to get your text box.
Choose your style of font, size, etc here.
I will be using Spacedoc as my style with a size of a size of 28.
Anitalias and floating both chosen!

NOTE: After your choices for your font,
be sure to pay attention to where you are placing your text within your transparent image.
I always go by my #'s in the lower left of my psp screen.
You will see these #'s change as you move your text around.
Once you get it where you want it, store those #'s in your memory for future use!

You will see that I am placing my text at 16, 22.
Why is this important???
When working in animation, where you place your text (or graphics) is important!
You want the colors to be changing, not the text jumping around which is what it will do
if it isn't in the same exact place in each transparent image! Here's my text.....

At this point you may give it a bevel
(effects, 3d effects, inner bevel)
I am using my eyecandy's inner bevel.
You may also give it a drop shadow!
(effects, 3d effects, drop shadow)
CTRL D when done to stop the marching ants!

Step 3 - Hmmm??? How do I word this for understanding?? LOL
You will repeat steps 1 and 2 for each of your transparent images!
Choose a DIFFERENT COLOR with each transparent image.
Color is the only thing you will change - everything else stays the same (size, style, etc.)
Be sure to remember those #'s I told you about in the lower left hand corner of your psp screen!!!!!!!
You need to place the text in the same place within each of your transparent images as you did in the first.
Otherwise, once you apply the animation, your text will jump around!
When you are done, you will have the exact same text written in each of your transparent images
EXCEPT they will all be different colors!
Below are all my six choices!

Now do you see what I mean?? LOLOL
I wasn't sure how to explain it!
I now have 6 tranparent images of the same text but in different colors!

Step 4 - Now we are going save each of these!
Hit your F12 on yer keyboard
Be sure to remember where you are saving them!
IMPORTANT!!!!! Be sure to save them in PSP format!!!!!
We don't want any background on them when saving,
we need them to remain transparent to work with in animation!

I'm going to give them a file name of ani-1, ani-2, etc & so on!

Step 5 - Open up your Animation Shop
(File, Jasc software products, animation shop)

Step 6 - Go to File, animation wizard
On this box, be certain that "as defined here" is chosen
and apply the settings of the size of your transparent images which will be:
Width 350
Height 65

Step 7 - On the next box, choose transparent
Click next

Step 8 - On the next box, your choices will be::
Upper left corner of the frame
With the canvas color
Click on next

Step 9 - On the next box, your choices will be:
Yes, repeat the animation indefinately
50
Click on next

Step 10 - Remember where you saved all your transparent images?
Click on "add image" and begin adding them one by one
See mine below:

You see how i've added each of my transparent frames!!!
I've added them one at a time till they are all there!
Now click on next!

Click on Finish!

You should now have all your frames on your screen
contained in one very long rectangler shape of frames joined together!

Step 11 - You can now view your animation before you even save it!
Go to View, Animation!

Are your colors changing on your text??
If so, you've done the animation correctly!

If your text is jumping around and not staying in the exact same place,
then you haven't gotten yer text in the same exact spot within each transparent image
and you can go back to your psp and make the necessary changes, resave and redo the animation!

Now let's save this animation!

F12 to save
Choose a folder to save it in, give it a name, and the format should be .gif
Next
Be certain "better image quality" is all the way up

Next
Let the bars load
Next
You will be shown the original & optimized version of yer animation
Next
FINISH!

CONGRATS to you for learning how to do animations with frames!
