Kid #3

Charis

Our third child, Charis, was born July 29, 2000. The birth was the hardest of the 3 thus far: due largely to the nurse on duty that night (we believe). However, all went reasonably well and that little bundle o' joy has evolved into a hefty chunk o' love. She's the mildest-mannered, most content child so far: with one glitch. She's the only one of the three that has ever cared if her diaper is wet. Which means, we actually have to change her once or twice a day.

However, if the diaper is kept dry and she's kept fed... she doesn't fuss much. Will I ever have a boy?

All right! What moron wrote that first paragraph? I'd like to beat him with a heavy, blunt object. Our "mild-mannered" "chunk o' love" has turned out to be a pushy, overbearing, I-want-it-my-way-now, chunk o' attitude.

Well, maybe it's not all that bad. At least this one never got kicked out of a Sunday School class. She is definitely the cuddliest (is that a word?) child we have. She is more aggressive about getting her way than the other two and my wife and I both have scratches to prove it. However, when things are going her way, you'll never see a happier child.

Or will you?

You might. This one doesn't smile... or laugh... ever. She will giggle, but has never had a full, out-of-control belly laugh. She rarely smiles; but she loves to make this face!

She loves toilet paper and baby wipes. She likes to spread toothpaste on the counter in the bathroom, then uses a half roll of toilet paper to clean it up. The toilet paper then goes into the toilet where, it being a half a roll, it tends to clog it up.

News: She is not taking the birth of her new brother very well.
