Creative Works Inspired by Moll Flanders and her Story

An exciting new site about Daniel Defoe’s riveting novel, The History and Misfortunes of the Famous Moll Flanders, &C., is due to be published on the web soon, and you’re invited to become a part of it! Any and all genres of creative ingenuity are welcome and will be published on the website, Moll Flanders in the New Millenium (http://www.geocities.com/my_moll_flanders/), including artwork, short fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and cross-genre works, as long as it has been based upon, inspired by, or is in some way connected to the story of this 18th century character (heroine, anti-heroine, villain (?!), etc.).

Submit your creative works to:
my_moll_flanders@yahoo.com

Submissions will be accepted on a continuing basis by email.

Bibliography in Webpage Format

I plan to develop a paper record of recent critical analyses of Daniel Defoe’s novel, Moll Flanders, with an emphasis on feminist critiques, from academic journals (and perhaps also from more popular media) and transform this into a web-publishable document. If possible, I will attempt to collect additional reviews of the Moll Flanders story as it appears in other forms--for example, cinematic, dramatic, musical, poetic, etc. All of this will be variously indexed by date, author, literary theory (if applicable), and journal title. Annotations will be added under each entry if it is available for me to consider. I might be able to include a list of the different versions of Moll Flanders published down through time and which of these are available for purchase and where. Links to any of the above information which can be found online will be provided, as well as some that more generally pertain to 18th century literature and women.

I will also accept submissions of creative work based on or inspired by the story and publish those on an adjacent page. (See above.)
