Fun Things to E-Mail Your Friends!

There is a difference between being an acquaintance
and being a friend.

First, an acquaintance is someone whose name
you know, whom you see every now
and then, with whom you probably have
something in common, and around whom
you feel comfortable.

It's a person that you can invite to your home
and share things with.
But they are people with whom you wouldn't
share your life, whose actions sometimes
you don't understand because you don't know enough
about them...

On the other hand, a friend is someone you love.
Not that you are "in love" with him or her,
but you care about the person, and you
think about him or her when they are
not there.

Friends are the people of whom you are
reminded when you see something they might
like, and you know this because you know
them so well.

They are the people whose pictures you have
and whose faces are in your head
regardless.

They are the people you see in your mind when
you hear a song on the radio because they
made you go up to the person they like and ask
them to dance with them; or maybe YOU danced
with them, maybe they stepped on your
toes, or just put their head on your shoulder.

They are the people around whom you feel safe
because you know they care about you.
They call just to see how you are doing,
because friends don't need an excuse.

They tell you the truth--the first time--
and you do the same.
You know that if you have a problem, they are
there to listen.

They are the people who won't laugh at you
or hurt you, and if they do hurt you,
they try hard to make it up to you.

They are the people you love, regardless
of whether you realize it.

They are the people with whom you cried
when you got rejected from colleges
and during the last song at prom and
at graduation.

They are the people that when you hug them,
you don't think about how long to hug
and who's going to be the first one to let go.

Maybe they are the people that hold the rings
at your wedding, or maybe they are
the people that give you away at your
wedding, or maybe they are the people
you marry.

They are certainly the people that cry at
your wedding because they are happy,
or because they are proud, or because
they are so in love.

They are the people who stop you from
making mistakes and help you when
you do.

They are the people whose hand you
can hold, or you can hug or give them
a kiss and not have it be awkward,
because they understand the things you
do and they love you for them.

They stick with you and stand by you.
They hold your hand.
They watch you live, and you watch them
live, and you learn from them.

Your life is not the same without them.
These are your friends.
How many do you have?

This is from the heart.
Send it to the poeple who are your friends,
who used to be your friends,
who need friends,
or just those people who need something
to make them realize that they have friends.

There is a king and a queen. The king says to the queen, "I
am going out hunting, do not leave the castle or I will
excile you from my kingdom upon my return."

Once the king left, the queen left the castle and went to
her lover's house. There they made passionate love and she left
on her way home. Upon return to the castle she was confronted
by a crazy man with a knife. The crazy man said, "if you
try and cross this draw bridge I will kill you!"

Very frightened the queen ran back to her lover's house and
asked him to help her. The lover responded by saying, "I am
only your lover, our relationship is totally physical and I
will not help you."

Fustrated she ran to her friends house and asked her for help.
Her friend responded, "You left the castle defying your king's
wishes. Secondly you left the castle to cheat on your King.
Because I do not agree with your decisions I will leave you
to solve them on your own."

Totally upset she returned to the castle and the crazy man
was still on the drawbridge waving the knife around menacingly.
Off in the distance she saw a ferry man. Since she could not
swim, she hoped the ferry man would help her and went to him.

Approaching the ferry man she asked him if he would give her
a ride to the castle since there was a crazy man waving around
a knife would not let her pass. The ferry man asked, "If I
give you a ride to the castle what will you give me in return?"

Never preparing for this, the queen did not have any money and
could not pay the ferry man. Also the ferry man would not
accept anything but money and so refused to give the queen a
ride to the castle.

Knowing that the King would return soon from his hunting trip,
the Queen decided to risk the drawbridge. Upon arriving at
the drawbridge and trying to pass the crazy man, she was
killed.

THE QUESTION IS, WHO WAS MOST RESPONSIBLE FOR THE QUEEN'S
DEATH?

1) THE KING
2) THE QUEEN
3) THE LOVER
4) THE FRIEND
5) THE FERRYMAN
6) THE CRAZY MAN WITH THE KNIFE

PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION WITH THE PERSON MOST RESPONSIBLE
FIRST IN ORDER OF WHO YOU FEEL IS MOST RESPONSIBLE!

THIS PARABLE IS A USEFUL MEANS TO DEDUCE TWO PEOPLE'S DESICION
MAKING PROCESS. IT IS ALSO A GOOD TEST TO TELL IF TWO PEOPLE
ARE "COMPATABLE" SINCE MOST OF A RELATIONSHIP IS BASED ON THE
"OTHER'S POINT OF VIEW". IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE MET SOMEONE WHO
YOU FEEL YOU ARE COMPATABLE WITH ASK HIM/HER THIS PARABLE AND
YOU MAY FIND THAT YOU ARE MORE/LESS COMPATABLE THAT YOU HAD
FIRST THOUGHT.

A INTERESTING SCALE OF COMPATABLILTY IS AS FOLLOWS:

NONE OF THE PEOPLE ARE IDENTICAL: The two people in question
have very different views of morality and ethical decisions.
Many problems, arguements, and trouble lay ahead.

ONE-TWO IDENTICAL: The two people have similar ideas but the
details how they came to these descions differs. Alot of miss
communication will be involved in this relationship.

THREE-FOUR IDENTICAL: Two people have a similar background
and values. The two people will find they have comman ethics.
Issues in the relationship will be soved with minimal
arguement.

FIVE-SIX IDENTICAL: SOUL MATES!!!

If you want please email your results and try it on your
friends and "partners". You will find this parable can carry
over into any type of relationship.

Please don't take this parable as law. I am sure that two
people can totally live in harmonry and get none of these
quesitons correct. But then again I feel that this parable
has very signifigant impact of the compatabilty of two people.
