This one is generally designed to widen cames. It's cheap enough and not bad having it but I like the one below better.
This is just a 1/4" dowel about 6" long with a pointed end and a softened back. The front was sharpened with a pencil sharpener and the back was sanded so that it wouldn't dig into my hand. It's about the cheapest you can have; it's about $1 per dowel and you can make about half dozen fids out of it. Whereas a normal fid is about a dollar a piece. With the wooden dowel, you can resharpen it at least 5 times before it gets too short.
