You mean someone actually pays you?

Amazing isn't it. Not only do they pay me, but sometimes, someone even feels like their getting their money's worth. They only told me on condition of anonymity so don't even ask who it was.

My career in a nutshell:

Sometimes when I look at where I started and where I'm at, I wonder how I got from there to here. I think I really have been fortunate in that all of the places I've ever worked have taught me a great deal and when my time and opportunity at each place ran out, there was always something waiting for me to move on to.

I started in the working world as a Programmer at an air craft landing gear test facility at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It turned-out to be a really great first job. As a computer engineer I had very little background in structures and strengths of material. At the Landing Gear Development Facility, I got to participate in all sorts of tests that bent, crashed and exploded some pretty tough pieces of hardware. It was a loud and messy job, but there was never a dull moment.

I moved from there to the Air Force Institute of Technology. I worked at AFIT for eight years for two different departments. Most of my time there was spent supporting electronics research for AFIT's VLSI Lab. Designing integrated circuits for their research projects, allowed me to put my computer engineering skills to work while at the same time giving my creativity some exercise. It also was a really great place to work and I certainly would have enjoyed staying there, but in the end, the uncertainty of AFIT's fate and a growing dissatisfation with the government contractor life caused me to seek other options.

My first real job outside the military was managing the Advanced Workstation Classroom at the University of Dayton for the School of Engineering.

After a three years I moved over tho the office of Adminstrative Computing and Telecommunications Services where I manage the large UNIX data engines that run the campus.

Right now I'm happy here at UD but you never know ... so here's my resume
