What are Movie Musings?
Welcome to my little corner of the web. The purpose of this site is to give my opinions on one of my favorite topics: movies. I review films that are new to me, whether I see them in the theater or rent them, and regardless of how old the film is. There are four parts to each review:
In a Nutshell: My one or two sentence opinion, in case you're in a hurry.
Quick Plot: A non-spoiler memory jogger, in case you haven't heard of it or can't recall the title.
In Detail: A more in depth opinion, which ranges in length from a few sentences to a couple of paragraphs. This is also where I mention things like if it's good for kids, if it "needs" to be seen on the big screen, etc.
Will I buy it?: I don't like to classify films with stars or grades or anything like that. The engineer in me would insist on trying to make a science out of it. Just because I wouldn't buy a film on DVD doesn't mean that I didn't like it or that it isn't worth seeing. But, if I say I will buy it, then you know I thought it was absolutely wonderful!
A little background on my taste in films: In spite of how many films I do see, I don't see everything. Remember, this is my entertainment, not my profession. (My husband and I are both engineers, which is how we support our movie habit.) I love action movies. I don't care for war movies, though there are some exceptions. I love animated films, both traditional and CG. I hate stupid and gross-out humor. I'm picky about my dramas. I refuse to watch horror movies. I love fantasy and sci-fi.
Which films are my favorites? I honestly can't pick, but here is a list of DVDs that I own (in PDF format).

What is Scare Factor?
Scare Factor designates guest musings written by my brother, Jacob (a.k.a. Ghost Writer). They are real musings in that they follow the format. They also have an added feature called (creatively enough) Scare Factor, which tells how scary it was. As the name suggests, most of these reviews will be of horror type movies, which I do not tend to see.

Who is the Move Muse?
My name is Erin, and I'm a movie-holic. Movies have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was raised on them, thanks to VCRs and parents who also love films. My husband and I enjoy spending time watching movies of all sorts. When friends started asking me for my opinions of films, I started sending out emails.
