Presidential Cats

 

The most famous presidential cat is without doubt "Socks", BILL CLINTON's cat. After his election as Minister President, Clinton forbid photographers to touch his cat.

WINSTON CHURCHILL (Minister President during the Second World War) owned a cat named "Jock". Jock accompanied him at most of the governmental meetings.

Amy Carter, the daughter of JIMMY CARTER, owned various cats, amongst which the Siamese cat "Misty Malarky Ying Yang".

Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of JOHN F. KENNEDY, owned a cat named "Tom Kitten". Tom Kitten was the first cat in the White House after Teddy Roosevelt's Slippers. Tom Kitten died on 21 August 1962.

Living in the White House TEDDY ROOSEVELT loved to have his cat "Slippers" around. Slippers was a grey/blue cat and suffered from a decease, resulting in having more than 5 toes at one feet.

Susan Ford, the daughter of GERALD FORD, owned a Siamese cat named "Shan".
