Adoptions

1. The cat I adopt will not be changed or altered in any way, shape or form, other than to make the picture(s) transparent. This includes using the cat for anything other than what he or she was originally intended, which is utimately a web pet. These pictures should not be used for buttons, backgrounds, or the like. If you would like something of this nature, there are many clipart sites out there. This is not one of those. If you would like my art or a cat for this purpose from me, mail me requesting such and we'll see what happens.
2. I will care for my cat the best that I can.
3. I will fill out all requested information and provide a working email, my own site address, and a proper home for the kitten I adopt.
4. My home will be a site I can bring the kitten home to. Meaning I will be able to upload the pictures onto my own server, as direct linking is forbidden. I realize neopets does not count as a suitable home, nor any other such sites.
5. I will not steal the cats. I realize they are copyrighted to Mouse, and will not claim them as my own unless I properly adopt them. I realize even though I adopt them it does not give me the right to change or alter the cat, as they are special and all things should be treated with respect.
6. In form of payment for the adoption, I will provide a link back to the Mouse House for all pet/show worthy cats I adopt. If I chose to breed the animal, I will give Mouse the option of adopting one of the kittens from its first litter.
7. I will not declaw my cats. I realize this is a painful and unnecessary operation and will instead train my cats not to claw up my house. I will refrain from any and all such unnecessary so called 'corrective' surgeries. I will not abuse my cat, nor any other animals I may own. Ever.
8. If I can no longer take care of my cat or provide a home or any other reason where I no longer will have the cat on the internet, I will do one of two things. I will either return the cat back to the Mouse House or I will adopt the cat out to some one who can take care of the animal, making sure they agree to these rules. I will also email Mouse so that they know where the cat will be so they may still continue to check up on the well fare of the animal, and provide the new adoptor's email address so Mouse can be sure they are a suitible owner.
9. I will breed any cats I receive from the Mouse House responsibly.
10. To show I have read and understand the Terms and Conditions for this Adoption Contract I will place the words "Apple Pie" in the adoption form as a codeword and understand that if I do not do this I will not be able to adopt any kittens.
11. I understand and agree that I may not receive a kitten. I realize that CCA members get first priority in picking and forgive the Mouse House for this prejudice.
12. I realize that under normal conditions I am likely to only receive one kitten from each litter, and that if I adopted a kitten from the last litter that I am less likely to receive one from the next. I understand I must allow others to have a chance to experience the joys of cyber cat ownership as well and willingly wait my turn as Mouse sees fit. Yet, I know that I can apply at any time there is a litter so that any and all kittens are sure to go to good homes.
13. I understand that the Mouse House will be checking up on the babies and if at any time it seems as though I am not providing adequate treatment of my animals I may be asked to return them. I will do so, with little question or complaint.
14. I know that I will get first the kitten picture, then have only one week (7 days) to place it on the site I applied with. If I feel like I can not do this, then I will inform Mouse properly before hand. Then, two weeks after I receive my kitten, or one week after I have them up on my site, I will get the adult picture via email which I will replace the kitten with or place beside the kitten picture, as I choose. I realize I can’t breed my cat while it is a kitten and will not foolishly try to.
15. I understand that all kittens will be sent out on the date given on the Litters page and not a moment beforehand and will not ask for them earlier.

Statement:

In order for me to adopt any animal from the Mouse House, I understand that I must agree and abide by the above conditions and that if I do not, I must return the animal and may suffer other penalties which could include but are not limited to banning or suspension from future adoptions, legal real-world punishments and warning other catteries about my behavior. I realize that by clicking 'Continue on to the Litters' I am agreeing to this Statement and all things within the Adoption Contract.
