LIFE'S MELODY
If I am a wave, then I am the ocean.
If I am a cloud, them I am the sky.
If I am a tender blade of green grass,
I am all grasses as time passes by.
If I am a grain of sand on the shore,
Then I am a part of each lonely beach
Where footsteps stretch to the farthest horizon,
Seemingly distant, but not out of reach.
If I am a star, rotating in space,
Then I am heaven's great gift of The night,
Accompanying the moon in all of its splendor,
Guiding all travelers who follow its light.
If I am the soul of even one person,
Then I am the soul of all of mankind.
Though each heart beats to a different rhythm,
In life's great tapestry, all are combined.
If I am a single note of a song,
Then I am the whole of a symphony,
Blended together by the Master's hand,
We are all one in life's melody.

ONCE IN AWHILE
Once in awhile I get a glimpse of glory.
Once in awhile when all is still.
When there is a hush spreading over the valley,
With clouds making shadows on a distant hill.
The earth vibrates with millions of lives,
All in tune with the Master's plan.
Each evolving in a definite way,
Creating harmony between nature and man.
On a clear, cold night I gaze at the skies,
Mesmerized by the countless stars.
I think of the millions of years gone by,
Leading up to this world of ours.
Sometimes that world seems to be in shambles,
That there is nothing left that is undefiled,
Then I find a source of pure, innocent love,
Once in awhile in the eyes of a child.
Those who are wise will always prepare
For those precious moments to come into view.
You must learn to recognize the priceless gifts,
That once in awhile will happen to you.

THE GIFT
If God told me the world was mine
And I could pick and choose,
I wonder what I 'd throw away
Just what I'd keep to use.
Would splendid homes and priceless art
Then seem the most appealing?
Or, maybe costly diamonds bright,
Their sparkling wealth revealing.
"Before you chose, give this a thought,"
My soul spoke softly to me.
"Think what will fade and what will last
All through eternity.
This world was made with grandeur plans.
It is our Lord's endeavor
That perfect peace and harmony
Will someday last forever.
If everyone would make the choice
Of selfless love for all,
There would be a heaven here on earth
With joy beyond recall."
With thankful heart, I recognized
The truth He gave to me.
I promised I would choose that love
With deep humility.
