Landon Carter

Landon Carter, unlike Jamie, is a typical teenager. Landon's father, Worth Carter, is a congressman and rarely spends time with his son because of his work. Landon's mother was a homemaker and was the one whom raised Landon. Best friends with Eric Hunter, the most popular boy in school, Landon is well-liked and has many friends. Landon was voted class president just because of the influence of his friends. He often goes to movies and out to the diners with his friends. Landon's family and Jamie's family never got along very well, because of ancient feuds and grudges that have held over into the present and Jamie's father doesn't approve of Landon. Landon and Jamie had known each other since they were very young, but Landon had never wished to spend much time with Jamie. They were interested in different things and rarely had anything in common to talk about. Though Landon thought Jamie strange for not being more like a normal teenager, he was always polite to her and never wanted to hurt her feelings intentionally.
