The Global Positioning System was developed for military use by the U.S. Department of Defense to provide worldwide positioning and navigation information to our military forces. GPS also has a broad range of civilian and commercial applications, including boating, surveying, mapping, aviation, vehicle tracking and outdoor recreation. Each of the 24 GPS satellites continuously transmits positioning information which is received by the Trailblazer and used to compute its location and provide navigation information. It will guide you where you want to go, and , because it rememberes where you've been, will get you back again. Trailblazer also uses GPS to provide you with other important navigation information, such as bearing, distance covered and distance to go, speed over ground, elevation, and much more.
