Personality: At first glance, by the way he dressed, one would think him to be the kind of person to smirk and shove others around. Minus the overall timid look in his eyes, hightened when he reaches up to fix his glasses. At least he seemed nice. Rather quiet, frowning often and usually reading. He either ignores most of the people that talk to him, or isn't paying enough attention to actually hear them in the first place. In a way, he usually looks confused, and a bit shifty. Though at times, when he bothers to speak, he can be sarcastic and is the type to throw himselves into fights, despite how quiet he usually is. If there's a probable reason, however.
Description: Black hair streaked with gold, and ends done red, pulled back in a very stubby tail. Chest was clad in a blouse made of netting, the only opaque fabric being the black collar and cuffs. A grey vest was worn overtop, bearing a red pin that showed his status as a Zauveye. Baggy black cargo or combat pants of some sort covered his legs, lined with many pockets. Tall leather boots were worn underneath, and if one bothered to notice, the left was done up in a pink shoelace. A black leather choker around his neck, the small bell still hanging. Rectangular silver rimmed glasses perched on the boy’s nose, many hoops and studs lining both pointed ears, as well as a few dangling earrings on the lobe. Left eyebrow was pierced once, right done twice. Lip and nose were also done, as was his tongue, hidden behind lips painted black.
On top of that, he was also usually seen carrying a slightly worn book bag of a rough, black fabric, the strap lined with many safety pins and a large red Z on the front.
History: Adelio was born to a wizarding mother, and a muggle father. He was born as Adelio Alphonzo Anderson. His father, being mostly Spanish himself, named him. His middle name came from his mother’s grandfather. He was born with black hair, yellow-hazel eyes, and abnormally pointy ears.
The boy grew up in a loving family, like any other boy. Though reaching the age of five, it was found that his vision was faltering, and he was in need of glasses. Adelio always liked his glasses, unlike most who would rather rid themselves of them, he thought they were interesting. He didn’t need them to read, being near-sighted, but he was lost without them, the world a giant blur.
Adelio’s parents decided it best to place him in a muggle school, as his mother wasn’t sure how he would turn out in the end. It was best to get an education from both sides of the family anyways, and it was thought to be best. The boy never made any friends at his muggle school, a little disliked. Why, he never really knew. An odd personality trait, maybe. Many other kids had glasses, and friends, so it wasn’t about that. Or maybe it was because he wasn’t the most outgoing kid, rather timid at his age, which only encouraged other to push him around. At a younger age he had also found an interest in reading, that, combined with his glasses and shy personality, and, if pushed too far, random outbursts may have led to a lack of friends.
At age eight, the boy was doing well. He was ordinary, nothing too exiting about him. It happened when he was walking home from school. His parents had allowed it, because even with the few kids that picked on him, he wanted the responsibility of walking home/walking his sister home. Made him feel like a big kid, guess one could say. Adelio never had a way with animals. And that only made it worse when his neighbour, with his rather friendly looking 3-foot-tall ball of fluff that was supposedly a dog, left the gate open. Said dog wasn’t as friendly as he looked, the owner only taking him in, in hopes of helping rid the dog of a past trauma. The dog bounded out, causing Adelio to jump back, grabbing his sister and shoving her behind him. That, combined with the owner running towards them both, trigged the dog to feel cornered, and he launched himself at the young boy’s stomach, a ball of fluff, teeth and claws. It didn’t leave the boy with a fear of dogs at all, as it would have most, but even now he has a nasty scar along the right of his stomach. He wouldn’t let his mother magically remove it, thinking it, as he did a lot of things, rather interesting. A reminder of his childhood. Besides, scars made you cool, right?
The confirmation that Adelio was, in fact magical, came at the age of eleven as it did most kids. An invitation to Salem Institution of America. His mother was delighted and worked very hard to earn the money to allow him to attend. The school itself wasn't pricey, but sending him all the way -to- the school, was. And she didn't like where it was located, either, so far away from her. Of course, even at this school, minus the few times Adelio tried to say hello, he mostly kept to himself, only friends being the nicer of teachers.
A car crash was what killed Adelio’s biological father. Good things didn’t seem to last for long, because although he was happy at his new school, while attending said school his father was killed in an accident. He was pulled from school to attend the funeral. The young boy of twelve years wasn’t quite sure how to react. Fidgety.
His sister now also in the same school as him, and no father around, his mother wasn't sure what to do. Adelio’s grades were slipping, even as he tried to keep them up. A heartbroken mother was a sad sight for the children.
It was when he was thirteen, when his mother fell in love again. With a friend. She hadn’t meant for it to happen, but love is blind, is it not? And the man had lost his wife a while back, many years, in a fire; leaving him with one child of his own, and losing another. And they took to comforting each other, though never dated. Yes, just before his fourteenth birthday, Adelio had a new father. Not that he ever called him as such, but that was all right to the man. Adelio’s stepfather was a good man, and although he couldn’t replace the boy’s biological father, he didn’t shun him, but instead they became close. And so, Adelio had a father once more, with his sister and mother, and a new addition to his family, a stepsister. The man was Japanese, and also a muggle, but his daughter had turned out to have some magic in her, and he paid for her to go to the same school as Adelio and his sister. But the school was located a ways away, and it was pricey and unsafe to send the children all the way there, for the new couple, and when Cordell, a newer, smaller school opened, Adelio and Ruri were transferred to the Academy. Tori refused to leave the friends she made at Salem though, until a year or so later she agreed to join her step sister and brother at Cordell.
