ARE YOU READY ? We can die at any time. There is no guarnatee of how long we will live. We buy insurance for our loved ones, but what have we done for self. Are we ready for death ? Jesus the Christ, and Savior, delivered to mankind the plan for mankind to reach eternity in heaven. Listen to these apostles. And then review the brief look at that plan to become ready. Peter knew that death was coming. 2 Peter 1:14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle [fleshly death of his body], even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath showed me [death of Christ on the cross and resurrection]. Paul tell us about living life. 1 Corinthians 9:24-26 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize ? [Are you one out of the crowds that will receive the prize] So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we [christians] an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air. The Apostle Paul knew the outcome for him, and so can we. 2 Timothy 4:6-8 For I am now ready to be offered, and my time of departure is at hand. I have gought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which Lord, the righteous judge, shall give at that day: but not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing [judgment day]. Bible is the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16a All scripture is given by inspiration of God. 2 Peter 1:21b but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Galatians 1:12 For I [Paul] neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, by by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Sincerity is not enough. Acts 10:1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius. Acts 10:2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always. Acts 11:13-14 And he [Cornelius] showed us [Peter] how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter; who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved. Works are not enough. Matthew 7:21 Not every one thatsaith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. There will be judgment. John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. The kingdom of Christ and heaven. Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock [Peters confession, verse 16] I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Romans 16:16b The churches [congregations in Asia] of Christ salute you. The plan for being saved. Hear and/or study the Word of God - Romans 10:17 - So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by [from] the word of God. Believe - Marke 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Repent - Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish. See also Acts 2:38 and Acts 8:37. Confess - Acts 8:37 And Philip said [to the eunuch], If thous believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he [the eunuch] answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Baptism - Acts 8:38 And he [the eunuch] commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he [Philip] baptized him. Then added to the kingdom - Acts 2:47b And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Our duty then - Revelation 2:10c be thou faithful [includes obedience to His word] unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
