The SFI Marine Corps (SFMC) is a component of STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association Inc. The SFMC is an office under the Commander, STARFLEET. The Commandant of the SFMC reports to Commander, STARFLEET.
Fictionally, the SFMC is part of the Ground Forces that are rarely seen in the episodes but are assumed to be a part of the Naval Fleet of the United Federation of Planets. The rank used within the SFMC is a little different then it is in STARFLEET. STARFLEET uses naval ranks whereas the STARFLEET Marines use Ground Force ranks.
