  • Baby seems quieter since there is less space to move around.
  • It's definate sleep and activity periods continue.
  • It's eye color is slate blue, but that will probably change after birth.
  • It's finger nails become complete and may grow long.
  • All your baby's body systems and organs continue to mature; it will be ready to take that first breath of air, and grow, just as soon as it is born.

      YOUR BODY

      • You see your abdomen getting bigger and wonder how much longer you have before birth.
      • The Braxton-Hicks contractions are more frequent now.
      • Your abdomen may look lopsided as your baby moves its arms and legs or shifts position.
      • You tire easily and frequently feel drowsy.
      • Your sleep may be interrupted by the need to urinate and/or shift positions.
      • Your feet and hands may swell.
      • You may feel pressure low in the pelvis from the baby settling into the position for birth.
      • Your stomach may have "dropped" from the baby settling(usually no more that 5 weeks left.)
      • You are tired of being pregnant, and you are ready for delivery where you can meet the precious being inside of you.

      YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Get a prenatal check-up each week now until the baby arrives.
      • Limit any out-of-the-area-travel.
      • Plan now for a birth control method.
      • Pack your hospital bag full of goodies like incense, and candles(if your hospital allows it) hair scrunchies, and make-up, a good book, and a comfy outfit for both you and the baby to come home in.
      • List people and phone numbers to call when the baby arrives.
      • Take time to treat yourself, and your partner to something extra special for the both of you.
      • Cover your mattress and favorite chair with plastic just in case your water breaks!
